Overclocking my G.skill Ripjaws 1600mhz Ram kit. RESULTS Opinions wanted

Hello all

So today I decided to have a play with my ram to see what kind of overclock I could achieve. I have 16gb 4x4 G.Skill Ripjaws Z on my 2011 platform.

Here are the results using a program called MaxxMEM2_preview

Stock @ 1.5v @ 1600mhz 9-9-9-24-128-2T.

I will post my best results after 3 runs.

Copy - 15769
Read - 19347
Write - 16532
Latency - 59.7
Memory Score - 17.89 GB/Sec

Overclocked @ 1.55v @ 1866mhz 9-10-9-24-160-1T (Ran 8 blend tests on prime95 stable)

Copy - 16474
Read - 20963
Write - 16376
Latency 54.6
Memory Score - 18.64 GB/Sec

Note the Write speed after overclocking is actually less!?! 1.55v was actually stable at these settings and going any higher did not yield any sort of improvement.

What do you guys think about a score like this? Is this a good result? I am also going to return the memory to stock when I get home tonight and then start trying to tighten the timings @ 1600mhz to see if I can get close to these results @ 1866mhz.

I will post my notepad recordings below for anyone who is interested in seeing the results in different stages of overclocking and tightening.

Did you consider raising tRAS? Too tight can cause problems too, like slower performance.

tCL + tRCD + tRP = tRAS thumb.gif

Tweaking advanced timings can also give you a nice nice boost wink.gif
