NVIdia drivers and 344.11 and CUDA support

I've seen numerous threads about how NVidia has removed CUDA support from 344.11 drivers, but I clearly see in my own NVidia control panel that I have 2688 CUDA cores on my two GTX Titans, and clicking the Components tab shows NVidia CUDA 6.5.19 drivers installed. Furthermore, when running Blender 2.71, I can enable CUDA GPU compute and it does in fact run two parallel CUDA render units (one on each card).

Was CUDA only disabled for certain lines of cards, e.g. GTX 900 series, and preserved for Titan series?

I may be wrong, but I think the issues were video encoding related. I think nVidia dropped NVCUVENC support and switched it to something else.

Ahh, that explains a lot. I don't do encoding via CUDA on my system, so that would explain why I'm not missing anything. Thanks for the clarification!
