I think group buys are against the TOS, but I'm sure someone will import them soon.

This section is not provided for the purposes of a resale outlet.

The occasional new/recently purchased item(s) that you decided to not keep are acceptable provided the following conditions are met:

* The items are sold for your cost price (no profit to be made at all).

The odd occasional volume purchase of low cost items like fans being offered far below retail for the benefit of the membership are permissible. Before you list such items please PM a marketplace moderator or a senior moderator with proof of purchase cost and the number of items you have.

Group buys are not allowed

So if someone were to buy a lot of them and wish to "sell" them to us at cost price ( plus shipping cost ), then technically it would be a way around the rule as far as I understand. But we can not do a group buy in the normal sense ( pay upfront, then wait for group buyer to purchase and mail each unit ), due to the potential for scamming I assume.

IDK if that is brand new rules but, discounted buys have done i past years.

I'm not sure if it is or isn't. I remember a long time ago there was a group buy for Gentle Typhoons? And the guy disappeared and only a few actually got delivered if any... if I'm remembering it right. Not sure anymore, that was a while ago.

And keep in mind that an order of 500 of these is over $30,000 worth, which nobody can really afford to pay up front unless they had an opportunity to at least make some profit off it.

I gotta say $124.56 isn't too bad. But if anyone does end up getting a bunch of these, count me in. wink.gif

Though might just end up buying one in a few weeks anyways. Really need to wait for a 2GB model though.

It got messy due to mismanagement, but I think in the end everyone got what they wanted. However, part of the problem was that people who weren't managing the group buy got saddled with the responsibilities against their will. If I recall correctly.
