PC wont start up :(

So this morning I went into my study ( i always leave my pc on) and on my screen i saw a message bouncing around saying "Not Optium Mode, recommended mode 3840x2160".. The pc was still powered on and the perihperals were lit up so I hit enter to see if it would kick it out of screen save mode or whatever it may be, nothing happened. I unplugged the monitor and plugged it back in and still nothing happened.

I then pressed the reset button on the front of my pc which usualy cold restarts it instantly but I got no response. I had to hold the power button in for a few seconds to get it to turn off. When I turned it back on it went through the following processes..

Turned PC on..
Screen lights up but displays nothing..
peripherals are still off..
The message I mentioned earlier starts bouncing around the screen again..
nothing for a while and then my PC beeps..
another long pause and another beep and again another long pause and then a beep...
after that third beep the peripherals light up but the screen remains the same..

So far I have tried unplugging every cord externally and plugging it all back in, restarted the pc a few times, turned it off and let it sit for an hour before trying again, all to no avail..

I experienced no problems with my PC prior to this. All my gpu drivers and windows updates are up to date. I routinely perform system scans with malwarebytes and I haven't installed any new software recently.

From what I gathered a continuous long beep could mean one of the following -

A: Graphics card not inserted properly or either graphics card related
B: Memory Error

Unplug everything except your main power cable and monitor cable. Test 1 Reseat your card and make sure the slot is clean. Test 2 Run system with 1 RAM Module and swap around.

Maybe remove the 670 and try using the igpu.

Ok I tried both of those things and neither worked. I then pulled the graphics card out and ran the HDMI cable directly into the motherboard and that worked! My screen lit up and everything was fine which I guess means my graphics card is gone?

Possibly? Could also be the mobo. Do you have another gpu you could try in that slot? Or you could try the 780 in a different slot.

edit: Or maybe another system you could plug the 780 into, although i'd be wary of doing that for fear of damaging the other systems mobo somehow?
