Need help::FX-6300 OC.

Thread Starter
Specs .:

CPU : AMD FX 6300 (AM3+, 3,5 Ghz, 14 Mb) with a Xigmatek Gaia SD1283 installed
RAM : (2x) DDr3 Corsair 4Gb Dimm Vengeance 1600
VGA : PCI X Sapphire R9 270X 4Gb Dual boost OC
Motherboard : GA-78LMT-USB3
SSD : Samsung 120Gb Sata III 840 EVO
PSU Coolermaster 600W Silent Pro M600

Software I got that might be useful for OC :: ET6 , Prime95

What should I do to get about 4 Ghz, never tried to OC before,so any tips would be really useful ?

Any FX6300, even the worst chip, can hit 4Ghz at stock voltage, by just raising multiplier. Just remember to disable APM and turbo first. You should actually need less voltage than stock to hit 4Ghz.

You may want to use IBT AVX at Very High (1st page of Vishera Owners thread), in order to test quicker your clock and use Prime95 as last confirmation.

As stated, raise the multiplier and test.

Your motherboard will probably be the key log if you want to go further, but 4.0GHz is very easily attainable.

Every setup is different.
Giving you precise numbers to plug in would not give you a stable OC. Read this thread to familiarize yourself with the architecture and take it one step at a time.

There is 1 famous thread for overclocking 6300 on your board.

http://www.overclock.net/t/1418383/fx-6300-ga-78lmt-usb3-rev-5-0-overclocking-so-far

They 've done it all. Pay especially attention to Jason and Mike The Owl.

Every chip is different. However, general rules.

1) Disable APM and Turbo.
2) Set LLC to Regular.
3) Go to 4Ghz and run IBT AVX at very High. If you pass it and you 're happy with 4Ghz, then:
4) Lower vcore 1 notch and run IBT AVX again. You pass? Repeat up to he point you no longer pass, go back raise vcore 1 notch. Run IBT again, this time you should pass.
5) For final confirmation, run Prime95 Blend for 8-10h. Some are bored to do this and simply omitt it.

Done.

Amazing ppl, this is really professional , thanks a bunch!

result edit:
i disabled the following : Cool n Quiet, c6 support, amd core performance boost(i think thats turbo core), apm master.
then i set multiplier to 20x which gave result of 4000mhz.
ran the ibt avx test 10 rounds and was succesful.
when i went back to bios to lower vcore i realized that 1.3 is the lowest value there is.
right click on computer-properties sais 4.02 Ghz .

If i did anything wrong plz feel free to enlighten me. thanks again!!

All the best on the overclocking. You will definitely have fun. I know I did. Just be careful with the temps. The FX 6300 heats up more than the 8370 that I'm currently using. Enjoy 😊

If you wish your CPU to idle down to 1400Mhz when not on load, you can put COol N Quiet back on. Doesn't interfere with overclock. Just make sure you use IBT at Very High (or Max). They are the most reliable settings and most likely to be your final voltages.

1.3v is the lowest vcore? That's very weird... Can you use the +- keys in the numeric pad to drop their further down? For 4Ghz, you can be anywhere between 1.25 and 1.3v.

For my FX 6300 I needed 1.24v for 4Ghz rock solid stable.
