My i5 2300 runs at 2,8GHz and boosting to 3,1GHz gets 1.06 in Cinebench 11.5
The 7850k running at 3,8GHz and boosting to 4GHz gets a 1.03 in Cinebench 11.5.
The i7 920 runs at 2,66GHz and gets a 0.96 in Cinebench.
They will probably catch up with Nehalem and Sandy with excavator if the 30% gain at 15W claim it true.

I think Amd will do well to produce an architecture that can compete with Intel on a value level. Right now their cpus and apus consume so much power that it's almost as much of a deterrent as the performance hit. If they can improve on both of those significantly, I'll be happy.
VIA has 1/4th of AMD's budget and still makes as good as Intel's low power processors. Their new APUs don't consume much power at all actually there are people with ULV procs at Uni that only get 3-4 hours of battery life on idle. While my Beema notebook is blazing they also have a larger battery that mine most of the time. (that is what they get for buying a cheap notebook while they could've gone with a cheap notebook that is actually decent)
