Impressions of the Battlefield Hardline beta weren't entirely positive, and it's this wealth of feedback that caused Visceral to ask EA for some extra time to develop their game-that's according to this interview with Visceral's Steve Papoutsis over on VG247. He also revealed a few of the changes that have already been made, including newly faction specific weapons and the option to stow special weapons in a vehicle's boot.

Its being developed as a new spin-off the BF franchise. This is a 'new' game, not an expansion.

It's DLC that will have it's own DLC.

Because Battlefield is already a established brand. Also they are using the same engine and models as BF4 so its less work for them to re-skin everything. I am just surprised this game cost more then BF4. I have to pay $69 compare to $49 for BF4.

This is what i could consider a Expansion Pack for $29.99.

The trailer looked amazingly fun. I'm still very skeptical about this game, but i look forward to what Visceral will add to the franchise. They are actually taking player input for this game. With the absolute disaster of the BF4 launch, they are certainly padding up stream. No doubt about that. Visceral needs to add a lot of content for me to get this at launch.

At this stage of the game, I would agree.

DLCeption

Anyways, DICE has proven that nobody should ever buy a game they make until at least 12 months after its release. I'll pass on this one, I think. The yearlong BF4 beta left a nasty taste in my mouth about them. There's some cool ideas here, but I don't trust them on the execution side of things. And as has been stated, this is too soon after BF4 (and too similar to it IMO).

BF3 and BF4 were much closer to the classic BF experience than BFBC and BFBC2 so I'd say it's either the past four BF games or the last spin-off, not just the past two. That said, BFBC was a worthy spin-off for the consoles. First solid BF single player campaign and gameplay more suitable for consoles (smaller maps and fewer people made it easier to run).

BF2 came out 2005 while BF3 came out 2011. During those 6 years gaming changed a lot. I think most games that used to play in 2005 are probably not playing now.

CoD franchise has been releasing expansions like this since COD4 and the OCN CoD fanbois cannot get enough of that deception and will pay top dollar for every expansion release - yet the BF franchise releases a game that is dissimilar to their core battleground games (and the beta was actually pretty fun) and the vocal OCN minority complains.

More complaints on OCN about EA games, yet again...

I don't disagree at all. I'm just saying that if I were to pick two games from the BF series that were the least BF-like, it would never be BF3 and 4, those games have all the staples of a classic BF game (besides large scale naval combat perhaps).

OCN gave up on COD long time ago. BF is our only child.
