Delidding my 4770k - Can I acheieve 400-800Mhz more?

If I delidded and applied my WC direct to the chip w/o putting the lid back on, Do you think I coul reach to 4.8-5.0Ghz?

Currently I can get 4.6Ghz @ 1.250, to reach 4.7Ghz I must goto 1.278.

I am wondering if this slight better cooling may help stopping the CPU BSOD in stress.

Reaching 5.0 is pretty unlikely, especially if you stick to sane voltages and temps.

What about 1.38V? Would you class that as a sane safe voltage? Do you think I could achieve 5.00 Ghz with that V?

Are you limited by temperature? What temps are you hitting in stress?

BSODs aren't caused by temp necessarily, usually just needs more volts or just can't function at the frequency you are running it at.

Delidding will give you more temperature headroom to work with, but it won't change your chips OC ability at all.

1.38v is pretty high on Haswell but it's not going to hurt anything if you don't run avx on it all day.

I'm going to be honest with you, don't get your heart set on 5Ghz.
