I don't understand where people get off saying Nintendo is holding the gaming industry back. Nintendo is basically their own genre of games.

The PS4 and XBONE are for FPS lovers, game makers know this and use it to their advantage. Nothing wrong with the new 'cool' game being an FPS.

Nintendo however, does not rush releases and as you can tell from metacritic and game rankings, first party nintendo games almost always score in the 90++. Nintendo doesn't hold anything back, they create new and innovative gaming experiences or re-hash old gaming experiences to fit modern day technology.

I love my Wii U, will never say I regret purchasing it. I have put about 100 hours into Hyrule Warriors, Donky Kong TF, WW..etc etc.

Beyonetta 2 Friday, Smash next month.

No thank you to a $400 PS4/XBone. Wii U + Gaming PC is where it's at this generation.

I don't like much of what Nintendo is making anymore. I haven't used my 3DS in so long that i don't even know where it is.

This reminds me of how annoyed I am about not having Other OS available on my PS3. Honestly I didn't really understand how to use the feature until a month before they killed it. Gee sure would be nice to put SteamOS on there..

No thank you to a $400 PS4/XBone. Wii U + Gaming PC is where it's at this generation.

The Pii U is terrible. Got mine at launch and sold it a little after a year. PS4+PC is where its at this generation. Very happy with the combo. This year the Pii U got a whole 2 so called "blockbuster" titles for the YEAR. MK and SSB. The latter not out yet. Both just rehashes and been done to many times. The drought is just unacceptable the Pii U has had.

You already agreed that Nintendo was allowed to change the EULA at will, and then people are surprised that if you don't agree to the new EULA you can't play your console? Wake up people, this is the sort of crap companies like to put over their customers. But no where did the EULA promise that if you don't accept future EULA that you will still be able to play your console. Not how it works.

In the future, don't update your console if you think you might object to the new EULA they provide with it. Because you won't be able to play your console till you agree.

Don't you technically agree to EULA's once you buy the console? And by buy, I mean purchase a license to use it? Doesn't this work with literally EVERY technological product? I don't get what's the big issue with Nintendo doing it when Microsoft and Sony have been doing this pretty much every time they push a new update to your console. I can't count how many people were furious with Sony for removing OtherOS, even though if you were smart and read the EULA, they flat-out told you they can add and remove whatever features they so please, for whatever reason. Then they said "removed due to piracy", then people tried to claim "bait 'n switch" even though they stopped advertising OtherOS months, even years, before they officially removed it.

Then again, uneducated people will always bark in anger about things they don't understand. What's new?

Guess I'm the ultimate hipster since I haven't liked a Nintendo console since the GameCube, and haven't owned one since the GameCube.

I especially love people claiming they hold the industry back when most of the time nintendo sits by the sidelines making cash money and the other consoles fighting over the grahpics.

Except with the Wii U, to the point where a lot of people didn't think it was a new console, and a lot more have already forgotten about it. And the GameCube, which.....I don't really need to explain how the GameCube did two generations ago, now do I?

*Waits for Bayonetta 2 to arrive this week* You know, a game that would not exists without Nintendo.

Is that supposed to be some "BOOM!!!! There goes the dynamite!!" point? I don't understand why that would matter unless you were a huge Beyonetta fan. Considering how the prequel didn't sell like hotcakes on systems with bigger audiences than the Wii U.........

And what did the PS4 get besides more FPS games and a HD re-texture of a PS3 game?

Also not exactly sure of the reasoning to own both a gaming PC (assuming your PC is) and a PS4 considering most games are multi platform these days.

As for blockbusters, Sure - some may consider MK8 and SSB the only BB of the console. However, The wii U has an excellent Library (in my opinion). MH3U, Donkey Kong TF, Zelda WW, Hyrule Warriors, SM3d World, MK8, NSMB U, Bayonetta 2 (if you like those kind of games).

Not to mention Yoshis wooly world, Splatoon, the new Kirby game coming out. Xenoblade Chronicles X as well.

Also the new Legend of Zelda when it releases.

There is a reason everyone says the Wii U won E3.

Nintendo gets bashed for being too 'childish' with it's graphics, not focusing on the re-hashed FPS games that pop out once a week.

You buy Nintendo consoles for the first party exclusives, not third party. That's what my PC is for.

To each his/her own, you enjoy playing what you enjoy playing. Nothing wrong with variety. I was just speaking my point about how Nintendo is doing anything but holding the gaming industry back.

I don't see how this is a problem. If you don't want to update don't update and keep your console offline. It's not like they can force you into paying more for their games. The consoles has more exclusives than any other system and so in respects better than PS4 and XBone in most cases. Consoles are not about touting a competive performance against other systems, it's about have a unique experience that can't be replicated on other systems. While we've got gamecube emulators it's hard to get that right feeling. Nothing beats Ocarina of Time on the N64. I'm not trying to run some crazy fanboyism on people. It's just that you should expect updates to have updated policies.

I've got a PS4, PS3, 3DS, Vita, Wii and PC. I embrace gaming in general. The real problem is where people think they can get off downloading games and hacking their console to play them on the system for free. I respect emulation, that's cool! However if you're doing this to hack a game aimbots or whatnots. Grow a pair! You get banned from multiplayer because of cheating, you shouldn't wallow in your stupidity proclaiming death to a company because you're not competent enough to just play the game.

Game hackers are loss/loss. They deprive the gameplay experience from people actually playing of fun, and when they get banned they make arguments trying to side others to oppose who banned them. That abusive opposition against the console if successful enough can deprive a consumer, guiable enough, from allowing the consumer to develop their own opinion. If you don't want that service, don't update. I don't think games should require a system update to play though.

Yeah there is a lot of greed in industries, but Nintendo is really tiny in comparison to Sony greed. I'm thinking without Greed in general. Legitimate greed complaints are not ignored, but it holds no argument about elua update. It might be your product, but they intend to provide updates as a service.
