[TechDirt]Nintendo Bricks Wii U Consoles Unless Owners Agree To New EULA - Page 6

I game on my WiiU more than I do on my PC.............. but it has its place.
It's a good way for me to be able to spend time with my kid. I take him to the park, too--but this way we don't have to deal with other peoples' rotten screaming little urchins. tongue.gif

Couldn't care less about the EULA, this seems like non-news.

It's true that there haven't been a lot of titles for me that I would consider great. I have been very disappointed with Mario Kart 8 but there are tons of games *he* likes and with Nintendo I know I can generally not worry too much about the content.

Also not exactly sure of the reasoning to own both a gaming PC (assuming your PC is) and a PS4 considering most games are multi platform these days.

As for blockbusters, Sure - some may consider MK8 and SSB the only BB of the console. However, The wii U has an excellent Library (in my opinion). MH3U, Donkey Kong TF, Zelda WW, Hyrule Warriors, SM3d World, MK8, NSMB U, Bayonetta 2 (if you like those kind of games).

Not to mention Yoshis wooly world, Splatoon, the new Kirby game coming out. Xenoblade Chronicles X as well.

Also the new Legend of Zelda when it releases.

There is a reason everyone says the Wii U won E3.

Nintendo gets bashed for being too 'childish' with it's graphics, not focusing on the re-hashed FPS games that pop out once a week.

You buy Nintendo consoles for the first party exclusives, not third party. That's what my PC is for.

To each his/her own, you enjoy playing what you enjoy playing. Nothing wrong with variety. I was just speaking my point about how Nintendo is doing anything but holding the gaming industry back.

As for PS4 what they have. I think the first year library is going to surpass the whole library of the Wii U. Plenty of variety. Little do you know I am one of the biggest Nintendo marks out there. I have owned all of their consoles since the NES days. I know the quality of games they can put out. They have completely lost their way though every since the Gamecube. The Wii. They got lucky on that. The Wii U. Not so much since people remember the Wii.

It was a novelty and "cool" to have with all the hype. I played the Wii U and got rid of it shortly before DK was coming out. I simply just gave up on it and was tired of getting a good game every so often. I also don't like the tablet controller at all. Pro controller is great on the other hand. Nintendo just needs to go back to their roots. They was like Disney at one point in time and owned everyone. 3rd party support is a complete sham and you always hear how under powered the system is compared to PS4/Xbone.

I would love to see Nintendo make a big comeback. But, man. They are stuck in the times. They need to get past that. As for my gaming PC. Its no beast but gets the job done. i7 2600, 8gb ram, 2gb evga superclocked gtx 660, intel 320 160gb ssd, 500gb hdd, dell u2412m 1920x1200 16:10

Dayum, the 1st Print is sold out throughout the UK... I asked my mother to check if it's still available in Spain, LOL.

They are not bricking it
If they were actually bricking it I'd agree, that would be a problem, the one potential problem I see here is that the update comes first then they want you to agree to the new EULA, but with the knowledge that the update comes first it makes perfect sense to make the console unusable until you agree to it, if not you are using software of which you have not agreed to he TOS/EULA

Everyone do know the TOS/EULA is the developers demands to you (the client) to use the software, you don't agree you don't get access

The correct practice in every software update, is that you agree to the TOS/EULA before you install, not "oh, btw, agree or you can't use it now!" way.
Its like your garage fix your car and only after say "agree to use it only turning right or I don't give it back to you".

And I agree that they should make you agree before the update, but with the presumption that the update comes first it make sense the way they are doing it.
My point being that people are reacting to the wrong thing, the thing they are reacting to makes sense, the thing they don't react to should change

Once you touch a steering wheel, Nitendo is pretty much a done thing...

This is a non story, because little kids don't care about this, nor should anyone here. Unless you have kids.

You're seriously saying that the only ones who cares about Nintendo is kids and their parents?
Also this thread is about this specific article/thing/hypocritical video, not about Nintendo in general
