I don't think it can be said that games caused these people to be violent. Columbine was a result of the kids being bullied. Sandy Hook was a mental health issue. Batman dude was obviously crazy.

Look at the population of gamers, and then observe the percent of them that become spree killers. It is not a lot. All these killers were white, do you think that being white caused them to be violent?

The real issue is the lack of mental health education and early detection in this country.

Those kids ALL ate junk food, too. Does junk food make intelligent people "become disturbed"?

Give a source that says violence in media turns people into psychopaths. Not that some psychopaths also partook in violent media.

Action movies make me excited. Who's fault is it for these things to exist?

Trying to ban a game when there is no evidence to support the arguments for doing so is also foolish.

Who is trying to ban the game? I've been following this thread pretty closely, and I have yet to see one person legitimately crying out for the game to be banned.

I was merely getting sick of people in this thread essentially calling it foolish to be concerned about this level of violence.

I will not be playing this. If I had a child dependent upon me, I would not let THEM play this. If a mature adult wants to play this in the comfort of their own home, they can go right ahead. They might want to look at what about this "game" appeals to them, but they can go right ahead.

The increase in school violence is by no means a statistical coincidence. Statistical outliers do not follow a trackable distribution curve. Unfortunately US school violence is very easy to see ramping up across the 80s to the 90s to now. frown.gif
Edit: as I stated earlier in this thread im not into censorship and wouldn't sign any petition about this game.
Hate speech is protected because it has elements of political thought intertwined.

The video game media is rallying pretty hard against it.

That sounds totally reasonable.

Yes your source is youth crime in general not school violence. You are not doing your cause any service.
Here is a chart representing incidents of school shootings in the us:

Source: http://www.businessinsider.com/school-shootings-chart-2014-6
There is less crime in general since the 1970s and following that trend school "traditional" violence like fist fights have sharply declined (cops in the schools, cameras) however Murders and suicides at school have gone way way up.

After eating mcdonalds? Pretty sure many have suicidal thoughts.

And OMG, just go and play that pony game if you people hate this one so much.
Frikkin "high society" condemning and whatnot. These posts are beyond ridiculous.
This supposed to be overclock forum not middle age housewife complaining platform that won't shut the hell up about all media violence directly affect their neglected children.
It's pathetic how many jump on this media fear mongering bandwagon. If anything violence is in decline vs "that age when radio wasn't even invented" but somehow violent games are to blame.
Keep your kid in a dark box till he reaches age 25, see how he turns out.

If youth murder is down, but school murder is up, doesn't that mean the schools are the problem?
