Maybe, but it might bother your wife/mother that you're totally okay with a stranger doing so tongue.gif

I also share the same sentiment that these devs are ruining it for other game makers, that is giving the anti-violent lobbyist oil tanker sized fuel to a fire that may eventually lead to government policies to cut out ANY violence in a game.

Okay, it's Nathan Grayson. How does this guy have any credibility left?

........................soooooooooo no one's going to mention how violent the uncensored version of Manhunt 2 is? K. I will.

Anyone remember how violent the uncensored version of Manhunt 2 was?

I seriously don't get what's the big deal. "ZOMG I hate everyone so I'm going to kill them all before I die!!!!!!!!"

............k. So when I played "No Russian" in MW2 and mowed down innocent, unarmed civilians to Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
frame the US Marines as the culprit
, that wasn't such a big deal, right? Maybe because I had the option to skip the level.

How about the executions from Gears of War? My favorite is from the second game, where they used the Torque Bow to hold the player's head up while they kicked it and it popped off. And I still think Gears is the most satisfying game when it comes to shooting people in the head.

Brutal melees from Killzone 3, anyone?

How about the knife animation from Battlefield 3 onwards? How disturbing is it to randomly be walking/sprinting, only to see a knife come in from the upper-right hand corner and stab you in the chest? OMG THE HORROR!!!!!

Chivalry. Do I even need to say anything more than that?

Conker's Bad Fur Day/Live & Reloaded. I don't need to say much of anything on that, either.

I would say GTA, but who hasn't? That franchise is nothing but violent satire as far as I'm concerned.

I honestly don't see what the big deal is, especially considering some of the best-selling game franchises are among the most violent. Gamers play violent video games ALL. THE. TIME. Because this one sounds more like a kid going forward with a school shooting, people are offended? K. Be offended. Then go back and be offended at the other games you somehow missed. Make sure you go back and be offended over how San Andreas basically glorified gang violen....oh wait people were more offended about a sex scene you couldn't even access through normal play........

ANYWAY! When's this game coming out? I wanna play it.

Are WWII vets bothered by games like the Medal of Honor series?

This is sadly true, it's unfortunate that people who are too lazy to monitor what their children do try to get the government to do it for them.

Funny how nobody bats an eye at blowing up Nazis or terrorists in a game, but as soon as someone from a "non-evil" demographic is harmed, it's all "think of the children" and "let's ban this violence!"

Crime has gone down since the 70s and 80s.
Why?
Crack dealers use cellphones now instead of setting up shop on street corners. WAY more cops everywhere, WAY more street lights everywhere. Cameras everywhere. The jails are bigger and fuller.

*Something* has changed though. Columbine--Batman--Sandy Hook.
Date rape is through the roof on college campuses.
Why?
I don't know but I could take a wild guess.

yeah i don't really like this game or what it will achieve for the industry. basically it's only purpose is to give something for journalists at kotaku to point at and justify their hysterical and biased reactions to every mainstream game that is released. nothing good can come of this

Yup because games like GTA are not violent at all!

no because they're either dead or well into final years of their life to get upset at an entertainment medium that 99% of 80-90 year olds have probably never experienced nor care about.

I get that you can be as politically correct as possible and still manage to offend the most sensitive people. You can ask how the Japanese felt about the film Pearl Harbor or how the Chinese felt about the film Nanking. Those are films trying to reproduce historic events, this game is putting you in the shoes of a sick man.

Such perspective, it has helped me opened my eyes to see things from the eyes of a mad killer!

I dont get why people care so much about a game, remember back in the day Manhunt was considered *to violent* and was banned in most countrys even tho now we have much more violent games, Marc Ecko's Getting Up was also banned in most countrys for being to violent and promoting graffiti but again now we have much more violent games with graffiti aspects to them (tho none I've seen are as in depth as Marc Ecko's). There was also Narc which was again banned in most countrys for the drug influence it may have

Now if we look at all 3 of those games then take a look at the recent GTA series, oh look GTA series has pretty much all of what those games had and more...

Really you cant say a games to violent, have you seen some movies and tv shows lately? some of them have more violence and disturbing scenes then any game I've ever seen, this seems like the typical witch hunt for when a game dev pushes the boundaries rolleyes.gif
