Questions on my heat sink

So currently I have this cooling my 965BE.. Stock settings at 3.4ghz

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835118099

So far I'm extremely happy with the cooling from it. My idle after 20-30 minutes of inactivity is about 30c..

The max temps I've seen was 55c during Prime blend testing.. Tomorrow I will be receiving my new 8320. So I have a few questions.

Since my current processor (965 black edition) is 125watts, does it put off more heat than the 95w 8 core? Also, Does anyone know how much (round-about estimate) it would benefit me to put another fan pulling from the heat sink? I have the one already that came with it (which is super quiet for my standards) pushing air through. Would it be worth the money to install another one pulling through? If I'm vague on anything, please let me know. I'm just looking for estimates and if it's really worth it. I know it's only a 120mm fan and I'm not worried about the cost of it, I'm just wondering is it even worth it. My case is already very well ventilated is why I'm asking.

~Thanks in advance! thumb.gif

the 8320 does produce a bit more heat

Yes I changed it, I haven't updated sig rig in a while. Not really planning on ocing very much. I was just wondering how much it would benefit to add a second fan to the current heat sink.

well it will dfinitely improve it a bit..itll help move the heat quicker plus bonus you the benefit of more silence..cause instead of 1 fan goin 40-100%
now youll be able to run it minimum 37%..more airflo..less noise..
nice rig..

Thanks, I'm still in the middle of upgrading. Will be getting graphics card sometime this week, and ram possibly the week after that. I'll be upgrading ram another 8 gigs because I use photoshop vigorously and I've maxed out 8gigs before.. Doesn't take long when you are using large RAW files together lol.. I'm getting great temps right now so far... This cooler is already amazing for it and super quiet so I don't really think I'll be needing a second fan... This is running much cooler than the 965BE as well. I think cause it's been a while since I pasted and I didn't use QUITE enough thermal paste lol..

so the new chip is in?
how are temps?
you can always setup photoshop to cap out at less ram..doesnt impact perf that much then..
well with direct pipe coolers like this your best perf comes when doin very thin lines on each pipe with tim..then a small dot in the center of the chip..this gives the ultimate contact for these type of coolers
i was at a point once deciding between h212 & h 612p..i chose the 612..a bit bigger then 212..but..much better all around..solid copper base..awsome easy mounting system..

nice..what gpu yo got now?

That air cooler is a 120mm 4 pipe so it should be on Par with all the other 120mm 4 pipes.

As such you should have no trouble overclocking your new chip

You will be fine with your present cooler.

I wouldn't never replace it with a 120mm CLC .. or any CLC for. They just are not as good, quiet, dependable, etc as air coolers in same price range.

I second this. Watercolors, even aio ones require more upkeep than an air cooler, and are prone to obnoxiousness like bubbling which can make an otherwise silent cooler annoyingly loud. The advantage of water is that it allows you to put a very large cooler in a space that would not normally allow it. This is not your current problem.
