Hey guys, when is the best time to purchase my Keyboard?

So after some deliberation I've decided I want a CM Quickfire Rapid for gaming purposes. This board with Cherry MX Reds costs around 80 bucks in most places, but as a pretty obsessively frugal person and a novice to keyboards/purchasing peripherals/tech, I don't quite know if maybe theres a best "time" to make this purchase? I just received a 10 dollars off tiger direct coupon.. and was about to dive in, but then I realized.. black friday and the holiday season is coming. Do these normally influence prices dramatically or is it just too random to say? Or maybe I should wait for it on a site like Mass Drop or Groupon? Or perhaps there is a massive culling of keyboards which occurs sometime at the end of the year where people replace their keyboards/sell unwanted ones where I can get a brand new/near brand new one for very cheap? Looking for advice from compulsive bargain hunters on when it would be optimal to purchase a Coolermaster Quickfire Rapid with Cherry MX reds sometime this year, thanks smile.gif

I would get one as soon as you can, the reason being, QFR's are becoming hard to find, and are rumored to be dwindling in production. If your heart is set on a QFR anyway, the sooner the better.

QFR with reds is hard to find as is, and even on sale, the price won't be much less than a $10 difference.

If you really want to save money, look online and on your local craigslist and see if you can find a used one.

Nothing wrong with buying a used mech.

I must be honest, I played with all the switched and really love the Cherry MX Reds, I will be buying a razer silent with that switch at the end of next month.

Very enlightening, thank you. Checking craigslist in a bit. Question: Does what you say also apply towards the illuminated version of the QFR? That's a newer version , right?

You could try waiting until Black Friday, you might be able to save some more money if you're lucky.

If you wanted the backlit version ( The QFR-i ) then it would be a good idea to hold out until you find one on sale.
