EVGA GeForce GTX760 SuperClocked w/EVGA ACX Cooler 2GB GDDR5 256bit, Dual-Link DVI-I, DVI-D, HDMI,DP, SLI Ready Graphics Card (02G-P4-2765-KR) Graphics Cards 02G-P4-2765-KR

Intel Core i7-5820k 3.3 GHz LGA 2011 V3 Tray Processor

Cooler Master Nepton 140XL – Push-Pull CPU Liquid Water Cooling System with 140mm Radiator and 2 JetFlo Fans

Here's a list that can help I suggest a tier 1 or 2.

https://community.newegg.com/eggxpert/computer_hardware/f/135081/t/45344.aspx

For a single GPU system with OC'ing think 600W - 750W. You can get away with 500w, but, 600+ for peace of mind. For a dual GPU system think 850W - 1050W.

I personally like Seasonic X series, though they are kind of pricey.

You might want to spend less on the CPU, and get a better GPU. I suggest looking into a "GTX 970". Maybe drop down to a 4790k to fit it in.

thank you very much for your quick and informative reply.
I am building the pc for triple monitor video editing and light gaming.
Thats the reason behind "cheap" GPU at the moment. unless you think i should get something better for editing videos
post #4 of 9
Ah. Really not sure about video editing. I do lite editing like most, but, not something I'd consider worth mentioning.

See what others have to suggest there.

But yea, look into something 600w+. Look for gold rated if possible. Try and avoid Nickle and Dime PSU. make sure it's from a good manufacturer and you're good to go.

How much did you want to spend on the PSU?

I'd recommend paruising this: http://www.overclock.net/t/183810/faq-recommended-power-supplies. Use pcpartpicker.com and plug in your parts for an estimation of power usage, and if you plan on overclocking the cpu/gpu add 100-200 watts.

Yea, Microcenter always has the best deals. I paid $340 for my 4790k. I think Microcenter had them for something like $300 or less. Closest Microcenter is a 10 hour drive for me.

That was a good buy. thumb.gif

Might not need more then 450w, but, I wouldn't put less then 650w (750-850w for sli) in it myself. That should allow for room to grow and OC'ing without worrying that your PSU is under sized. Peace of mind goes a long way.
