Yes, although source is "a heavily modified quake engine"

There's a very good flow chart floating around out there showing the evolution of the Quake engine, as well as forks and derivatives of it.

Anyone got it?

This is a good thing. Games are no longer targeting systems with 256MB ram. They might not be using it all efficiently, but they will in the future, and at least we know they aren't cutting things out.

55GB of uncompressed files, thats for sure. Really hate how developers are so lazy and therefore leave the files uncompressed resulting in huge files, wasn't even interested in this game anyway. Not everybody has a fast connection or have sufficient hard drive space to install games so big, but I guess that is the norm for today.

I'm not happy about this but if it frees up CPU overhead for those with weaker systems to be able to play the game effectively then so be it.

Btw, is that 6gb going to be "forced" (i.e. the game won't boot unless it detects 6gb) onto the PC? Or does anyone here think it's going to be a legit requirement to run the game smoothly?

And 6GB ram MINIMUM again? Lol okay Activision. We already caught you out on this less than a year ago, did you think we'd all forget about Ghosts not actually using anywhere near 6GB but still putting an artificial block on launching the game? It's like Activision thinks that putting up fake spec requirements is going to trick PC gamers into thinking its actually a respectable PC title that they put effort into.

Uhh, I played the free weekend of Ghosts and with 4GB of RAM, things get choppy on some maps. Like unplayable choppy. People complain games don't use they're memory up, but than are snarky when they start too?

A game like COD doesn't justify its need for that amount of RAM yet. That's why people are mad I suspect.
