Overclocking an Intel Core i5-4690K on a GIGABYTE Z97X-Gaming 5

Thread Starter
I am using an Intel Core i5-4690K on a GIGABYTE Z97X-Gaming 5. I have all settings in the bios set to AUTO and SIV64X reports CPU speed (for the 4 cores) as 3.70GHz ranging to 3.90GHz as maximum. Does this mean that the CPU is overclocked by default from 3.50GHz? What if I want to try higher CPU speeds? Do I have to change some bios settings from AUTO and which ones?

The processor has turbo speed of 3.9ghz so that's why different clock speeds showing.

As for over clocking you would need to change settings in order to find stability at higher clocks I can't say what setting as I not tried doing my own 4690k hopefully someone else may be able to assist you further
