Multi-Fan PWM Splitter with Phanteks fan hub.

Hello,

Can the Phanteks fan hub run off a PWM splitter? It says to connect directly to the CPU fan header but can you run it from a PWM splitter originating from the CPU fan header?

Thanks.

The splitter would be powered by the PSU.

If this is what you have, You can connect the cable with 4-pin connector(PWM) directly to your CPU fan header

How would you wire it if you had pwm fans for your cpu cooler since the hub takes the signal from the cpu header. The hub only has 3 pin outputs rendering pwm fans useless.

Basically trying to use the hub for case fans. I know its not that great but it still can run fans at less than full speed.

Thanks.

Once you connect the 4-Pin Connector from the hub to your CPU fan header, all fans connected to the hub will run the same speed from the PWM Signal.

Fans running on Phanteks PWM controlled 3-pin fan hub are not using the PWM signal the hub receives from motherboard. the PWM signal is used to regulate the voltage going to the fans.

I'm not sure, but would assume that a PWM splitter can be used. The only problem I can think of is the Phanteks PWM controlled 3-pin hub may need to supply the rpm signal to CPU fan header.
