Don't buy this. Buy FC4, fine. But don't buy this. No way I'm buying Far Cry 4 any time this year anyway. By the time I get it Steam will have everything included for like 7 dollars.

I don't like the way Ubisoft is going with some of their games. AC Unity runs at an utterly laughable 900p/30fps on potatoes, how that is an acceptable res/framerate on current gen consoles I have no idea. It also bodes poorly for the PC version, inspires no confidence in me that it will perform better than AC3/IV.

I'm going to buy the Far Cry 4 pass......as in passing on this turd of a game. I already canceled my pre-order after I finally gave UBI some credit for FC3.

I am not buying due to being a Ubi game...they have disappointed as of late and until they get their 'stuff' together I won't buy.

That said; anyone complaining of game prices and DLC prices that make a 90 dollar game need to check gaming history. I remember paying 50-55 bucks for HL and Homeworld and such back in 1998(?). Given inflation those would be 75 dollar games today at the store. I too disagree with releasing half a game and then charging for the other half in the realm of a "DLC", but its not like we are getting a bad deal at 60 USD for a new game. I am honestly half stunned that 69.99 or 79.99 is not the norm for a game. Please don't flame me for I know that as a whole, a lot has changed and quality might not be what it was, but given the price/inflation ratio, gamers are actually getting a decent price.

Sorry for the rant - still not buying this Ubi crap. thumb.gif

G2A.com has the main game for $42 - I'll assume they will sell the season pass for around $20 any day. But still, that's a chunk of change.

Is that site even trustable?

I'm not going to try and say the bad outweighs the good, but for people who really love Far Cry, this juicy tidbit of info may just inspire them to consider that season pass down the line. I'm still going to pre-order, cant imagine wasting one more day before I get my hands on this destined to be masterpiece.
So you're basically paying them before even having the product? rolleyes.gif

Pre-ordering is downright stupid. It's a digital game, they won't go out of stock. The risk involved in pre-ordering a potentially crappy game outweighs the lousy bonuses they give in the pre-order packages. Wait until the reviews are out. Check out gameplay videos and then make your decision. Throwing your money at something uncertain penalizes you and all of us.

I'm not making a point against DLC in general, day one DLC? that's just pathetic. Most of TES/Fallout's DLC has been worth it, and is an example of good DLC. Dawnguard and Dragonborn were entirely separate events, along with Shivering Isles Bloodmoon, though I suppose if we're getting technical Tribunal is a continuation of the main quests' prophecy, but Morrowind can do no harm through my rose-tinted glasses.

Those companies keep playing with our love for games. Just because FC3 was nice, doesn't mean I'll pay a fortune for 4.

The risk may outweigh the bonuses to YOU, but it does not outweigh the bonuses for everyone, seeing as how pre-ordering is STILL such a huge business (despite how you and every game critic out there whines about it).

You can type up all the objective criticisms you want, but the truth is that people only do what they want to do, so the fact that the pre-order business is by all accounts growing would tend to show that people obviously DO get some benefit from it. Whether the benefit is perceived or real does not matter. They see some benefit to pre-ordering, they want to pre-order, and then they pre-order.

You can educate people who truly don't understand digital distribution, but the chance of those people being on an enthusiast site like OCN.net is unlikely, and sarcasm/rudeness never helps.
