So you'd rather side-step, troll and rely on semantics to avoid the 3 people that have a problem with your claim that all pre-ordering is bad period by saying, "hey I didn't specifically say this one word".

I never said pre-ordering is ruining the industry. You made that claim by highlighting one part of my post that absolutely did not suggest that. I think raising the price of games by 5$ hurts the consumers. Do I think it will ruin the industry? No. Don't call me a troll when you're the one applying completely hyperbolic interpretations to my words.

Do you know what a troll is? It's someone who posts only to get a rise out of people. The other guy's posts were ridiculous and I was actually agreeing with most of what you said until your last two posts.

I think pre-orders are mostly a bad tactics that ensures the developers a quick buck without any guarantee they'll be able to deliver on what they're advertising. I don't think it'll cause the downfall of the gaming industry as we know it. rolleyes.gif

Really though, calm down, and stop calling people stupid. It makes you seem pretty harsh.

Also-

"There's no justifying pre-order in this day and age."

"When there are actual pre-alphas and betas then there are incentives to pre-order."

This is what happens when you say your opinions as if they are facts.

Today I Learned: It's ridiculous and trollish to try to stop someone forcing their opinion on others.

Except the first post was mostly in response to Far Cry 4(which last I checked had no alpha or beta) and games like it. Archie then mentioned MMO's which I wasn't taking into account when I replied at first. By all means though, you can ignore context all you want.

See, now we're getting somewhere, I think all this time we thought you thought every single pre-order was evil, everyone who preordered is an idiot, and that no one should think differently than you.

Now that I actually understand where your stance is by showing us where both boundaries lie as far as how much you think pre-ordering is bad and how much it isn't other than giving us how bad it is the whole time, I'm hoping this won't devolve into a bunch of bashing. I honestly have a problem with your way of wording your arguments, but now that we know where exactly you stand I think everything good, right?

I'm more than happy to discuss different preordering tactics, which people tend to fall into that hurt them and what ways people can actually avoid spending money on a bug-ridden concept rather than an actual game, though this definitely moved wayyyy off topic from DLC.

My bone to pick with you is just about gone, sorry for going a little on the deep end.

Come on people, it's Ubisoft. They are right up there with EA and Activision when pulling this kind of anti-consumer stuff.

I also get a very strong feeling that all the DLC for FC4 has already finished development and is just sitting on their servers waiting to be downloaded. Obviously I can't prove that, but Ubisoft haven't exactly filled gamers with trust and assurance. Quite the opposite.
