bypass 1.2V vcore limit on gigabyte b85m-ds3h (possible other gigabyte h81/h87/b85 mobos)

Thread Starter
I've been trying to dig out a way to remove the stupid vcore limit of my b85m-ds3h since they release the bios to remove the limit for b85m-d3h last month. tried to flash the bios of b85m-d3h to my mobo but it's no success.

I came across a post by another member IOWA in the thread "Intel Pentium G3258 Performance and Owners Club" post # 2053 and he used a tool called gigabyte tweaklauncher. Downloaded it, installed and double clicked it. Guess what, all those stupid limit are removed.

It's not as convenient as a bios tweak but at least it's a way to see how far away you can push your haswell to.

don't know why ver 2 is released later than ver 2.1. I downloaded ver 2 and it works well for me.

Interesting... I wonder if something similar will come out for other manufacturers. I have a MSI h81 board I wouldn't mind pushing a bit.

Confirming this, my G3258 is now stable at 4.5Ghz 1.32v Vcore on a previously 1.2V limited board. I'll put screens up tonight. biggrin.gif
