can somebody teach me OC guru 2

Hi All,
Sorry I am new to oc, currently using OC guru 2. I kind of like this compared to the MSI afterburner as it shows the default readings.

I have a pair of 980s on SLI. I have tried over clocking but i have absolutely no idea if i have done it right.

Some questions if you can help me out:
1/ Under GPU clock box - synchronization in the GPU clock box means have the pair of 980s in the same settings correct?

2/ Under Core Voltage -
a. offset min - means i am adding a certain voltage to the card everytime? +0.05v
b. enable over voltage - i have this checked
c. offset max - can someone explain to me better to use this or the offset min? I cannot seem to click this option though. Perhaps i have the target power checked? I am also not sure the difference between this and the min?

my question also is increase 0.05v from what base voltage?
I have seen somewhere the max voltage of the 980 is 1.25v, when i run heaven, my voltage is at constant 1.193v. Means i can add more right?

3/ target
a. power - 125%
b. temp - 79c
c. i have the prioritise temp checked.

thanks.

By the way these are my overclocks finally adjusted.

Makes no difference it appears turning it down.

1. gpu clock - +260 to 1387/1476
2. memory clock - + 850 to 7860mhz
3. enable over voltage checked, radio button on min offset checked. add 0 volts. This is a weird one, because adding makes no difference!
4. power target 110% linked to temp target 83c. I had this on 125% but dropped to 110 because i monitor the graph and it seldom go past 100% infact I think the highest i have seen is 102%?

on the monitoring, this is what appears when running heaven.

1. gpu clock 1512
2. memclock 7862
3. gpu voltage is 1.193 and occasionally up to 1.218, most of the time stays constant at 1.193.
4. temp 54c

Any advice greatly appreciated.

thanks

Update
I changed to the msi afterburner. Adding 0.05v. The voltage reads 1.243 and 1.262v so hurrah, voltage now changes....

adding 0.3v does nothing still, remaining at the old 1.193 and 1.218. likewise, adding 0.87v maxing out what i can add in afterburner, it stays as 1.243 and 1.262.

running heaven with voltage added or none added does not appear to make any difference. perhaps only a few points in the score.
