Hey is anyone else experiencing horrible network lag when playing with friends? I mean damage not registering and standing still and warping to a location like 10-20ft away. This has been horrible for me. I even tried fowarding the ports like some have suggested with no luck. I know borderlands has never been great with its netcode but this one is just unplayable at times. I've checked my net and its not that and other games are not lagging like this.
I've noticed it feels more laggy than Borderlands 2, last time we played. But not massively.
I had some desync issues with BL2 as well. Maybe you just got unlucky.
The server also needs to have a decent connection, meaning good upstream bandwidth (how fast you upload stuff). Downstream bandwidth (how fast you download stuff) is meaningless. Most home connections are asymmetrical, so finding a good host can be a problem, unless you know the host is solid (playing with friends).

This is a common issue with new Borderlands games. They had to fix this along with the outright poor ability to connect people in Borderlands 2 some time after launch. I'd just give it some time. Gearbox usually gets on it.
I never have had any issues... even when running a pvt vpn so I can get the game at launch day so I can play it on the 14th instead of the 17th like the rest of the world
I had issues last night playing a 4 man co-op as the host had issues with his BB but when we swapped host ( 30meg line) we had no issues.
he was in gernamy, I am in the UK and the other guy was in the usa and the other guy was in the UK too so we had people all over..
Like I stated its not my hardware and it doesn't appear to be my internet. It is only 720-780Kb/s upload but I have not had this kind of issue with any of the other borderland games nor any of my current online games.

It's P2P, so if your friends have crappy internet, or are far enough away that you have a high ping to them, it's going to be a lagfest.
