I'm after a new computer desk, any suggestions?

Current Desk:
74CM Height
141CM Width
50CM Depth

What I'm after:
Less height so my elbows don't hang (Adjustable height maybe?)
Similar Width
More depth to allow my screen to go further back and for me to sit closer in.

Slightly relevant info:
My chair seems kinda low (49cm from seat to floor via crude measurements)
46-53CM in the specs (I have it as high as it will go and it's too low for a "standard" 75cm high desk)

Current Desk:
74CM Height (29.1")
141CM Width (55.5")
50CM Depth (19.7")

A couple things:

First, you should generally have your arms and legs at right angles. Your thighs should be parallel to the ground and if they are not, you need to raise or lower your chair. Same with your forearm when your hands are at the keyboard.

My issue is that I am very tall so it's hard to find things that fit me well. I did buy an electric sit-stand desk and while I don't stand as much as I should, the best feature is that it lets me make small adjustments up or down when if the current position seems uncomfortable.

I've used the computer for over 12 hours per day for over 15 years and never suffered any sort of carpal tunnel or repetitive motion injury because if anything seems even slightly uncomfortable, I change it - immediately.

Do not tolerate little bits of discomfort or numbness or tingling or whatever because it will only get worse.

An alternative is to build your own. I bought myself a piece of butcher block counter top and modified the instructions from the following link to customize what I wanted in my own personal desk. The main thing is to ensure you've the room to move said desk into whatever space you're planning. You may have to build the base frame, and just screw it into the counter top piece in the computer room (it's what I had to do).

My chair physically cannot go any higher, that's one of the issues. :c My elbow hangs which anchors my wrist when I'm using my mouse, it's more of a concern for gaming than anything else, I don't get physical pains or anything of the sort really.

The Butcher Block counter is very interesting to me.

One of the issues I've had with my desk is that the main surface is 72" wide MDF and the legs are at the outer edges so it's basically a 66" span without any direct support and it wants to sag.

I added an anti sag brace which helped but apart from the fact that I love the (imitation) carbon fiber laminate, I would seriously consider swapping the top for that Ikea part - maybe cutting it into a slight C shape or something first.

It cannot be over stated that for a large desk with a lot of gear, structural rigidity is paramount. I think that if the maker of my desk had moved each leg inboard about 12 inches, it would have made a huge difference. It does look better with the legs at maximum width, but MDF alone is not up to the task.

Here is my gallery is you want to take a look: http://imgur.com/a/Jmbxo

Yea, with the butcher block being the way it is it's very resistant to warping. Add to that I have the majority of the weight being supported towards the back and in between the back 3 "legs" so to speak. I refused to deal with MDF and other such materials since I've gone through 3 desks in the last 14 years all due to warping. (Warping from CRT screens on the first 2, and then I have a pair of speakers that weigh 28lbs each, plus a 27" monitor mounted to the desk)

IKEA desks have always worked for me. They are super cheap and have adjustable length feet with different sized table tops. They also have electrically adjustable tables.

Good table.
Not too wide, not too deep and adjustable height.
I do not recommend electrical desks for home use, bcuz it would be something you would rarly use.

Length: 140 cm
Depth: 60 cm
Height: 73 cm (current is 75, near as makes no difference :/)

It doesn't suggest a height "range" so I can only assume it's either fixed or that's the minimum height :c

http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/S69857764/

This one isn't much of a looker but it specifically says the min and max height (how very kind of ikea to give me the basic information I need this time).

Depth: 80 cm (nice and deep wink.gif)
Min. height: 60 cm (woop)
Max. height: 90 cm (even the BFG can have a pop at it)
Width: 160 cm (a little girthy though)

Shame it's cheapo covered stuff (compressed cardboard) but I could probably reuse the frame if I had the time and/or patience.

Well Ikea have alot of options.
They have legs which can go as low as 60cm.
So its just a matter of what you want really
