[PC Gamer/CVG] Assassin's Creed Unity system requirements rumoured to be steep[Confirmed] - Page 5

Nowadays COD games require 6GB RAM on PC because they do the laziest possible port job (while BF4, a game that is more technically impressive by several orders of magnitude, can run on 4GB RAM, and Crysis 3 could run on 2GB, a game that is arguably still the best-graphics game available at this moment when maxed out).

The 2007 game I was referring to, Crysis 1, never did look good enough to justify it's specs. It was horribly optimized.

IF they really can't get this game running on less than a GTX 680 on PC, but somehow get it running at a steady 30fps on the HD7790-equivalent XBONE gpu, that alone proves how lazy of a port this will be. I highly doubt Ubisoft will make the lowest PC graphics settings look better than the console graphics. Just think about that for a moment.

Look at the ultra quality banner they've chosen in that article:

Anyway, performance difference of ~30% between minimum and recommended GPUs is absolutely ridiculous. That means that if the if a 680/7970 is truly the minimum required, then the recommended cards will just give you 30% or so more fps at minimum settings.

Also their minimum AMD CPU is the same as the recommended AMD CPU. Both at the same frequency.

In conclusion:

Ubi pls.

Crysis runs on a potato if you want. It's just the max settings that need a 580 or something to max comfortably. Crysis scaled.

I hope its true. You big babies always bragging and showing how much power you have to run games. Yet no games take advantage of these e-peen setups. Now it might happen and you cry. rolleyes.gif

We need to remember - the 680 is over 2 years old now. It's no longer "high end". It's effectively a mid range card now.

True, but it's still mad powerful and way better than what's in the consoles.

My old 7970 is nearly two years old (or is it 3?) yet it's more than twice as fast as the PS4 and can still do more than it. Hell, I was running the same triple 1080p monitors I have now with a single 7970 and could run games like Black Flag at 30fps or more with high-max settings.

So yeah...the 680 is older for sure, but by no means a slouch. By no means would I consider it a "minimum" GPU. Again, if the Xbox One can run the game at 900p and 30FPS with a 7790 class GPU then a GTX 680 should (and I mean SHOULD) have NO problems at 1080p and higher/max settings.

Whats with all the washed out colors in games these days?

You're right. The PC version should max it out with hardware comparable to a console...if we were getting 900p, 30fps, no AA, tons of bloom, low draw distances, low res textures etc. There's a reason that's not a valid argument.

It's pretty obvious the rendering quality of AC: unity will require high end gears, even AC: black flag and 3 will bring a ultra end PC to its knee. I only hope it's not a game build for future hardware like crysis1. Still looking forward to it.

Looks pretty similar to building textures in The Getaway: Black Monday (2004 PS2 exclusive) lachen.gif
