Just wanted to go a bit quieter and fully modular. I only bought the HX850 a few months ago so I could probably sell it, but definitely not as much as I bought it for. Is it worth the upgrade? My major reason for wanting to go modular is because I'm remaking my entire system and really putting a focus on cable management now, since my first build had none. Would I be able to do just fine with an HX850 in a Corsair 750D in terms of cable management?
Edit: Planning on buying red sleeved extensions to the PSU as well.
No its not worth it EVGA SuperNova G2 is a better unit is cheaper and has much better sleeved cables for it. http://www.evga.com/Products/Product.aspx?pn=100-CR-1300-B9
But you dont need 850 watts unless you are going to have 3 video cards
Being in Canada, Corsair ones are easily obtainable. The EVGA ones are $48 dollars just for shipping. I'd like to consider a different brand, but it isn't in my reach. With that said, is it worth the upgrade to any Corsair ones, or can I manage cable management and aesthetics with a semi-modular with a bit more effort?

I do not know where you are hearing this from nor how big your sample size is - but agreed silly "upgrade" use that HX til you notice how bad it has become or it is about to die

Reading reviews on Newegg and Amazon. Regardless it's not worth paying for an upgrade, especially for a Corsair unit with negligible(if any) performance difference over a much cheaper unit.

mmm I have mixed feelings about newegg/amazon reviews because sometimes I feel like they are inadequate in building and they either eff up the psu by not properly setting it up ( pins are not completely/secured in the sockets THUS either shorts the motherboard, PSU causing havoc). I for one go to jonnyguru, anandtech, guru3d, and hard ocp for reviews on PSU for what components it runs with, capacitors etc.

Yes, but those are also probably cherrypicked and tested. Anyways, we can both agree that changing the power supply is pointless as the HX series is still a solid unit by today's standards.
