Seem to have gone a bit GPU based in the recent posts. Of course but Ubisoft want a better CPU

Here's another quote:

"We were quickly bottlenecked by that and it was a bit frustrating, because we thought that this was going to be a tenfold improvement over everything AI-wise, and we realised it was going to be pretty hard. It's not the number of polygons that affect the framerate. We could be running at 100fps if it was just graphics, but because of AI, we're still limited to 30 frames per second"

The point is probably games won't advance much in systems and AI, we're left with the same old game with better visuals

You can offload to the GPU, PS4 seems to be good for that.

Crazy to think we are already a year into the new generation of consoles. That went by fast, and pretty unexciting to be honest.

I was playing The Evil Within on PS4 the other day and it dips below 30fps in some open areas. Not a good experience at all, scared to see how it performs on the Xbone

Everyone hated the PS3 at launch because its price was too high. Sony was smart in keeping the price of the PS4 low. A $500 PS4 is a big difference from a $400 PS4. Just ask the average console buyer.

They said they're spending 50% of CPU power on prepackaged rendering systems. Seems to me maybe they should see if they can come up with a more efficient solution for that

For them to lose money would mean they have to push the hardware for 5+ year to make up the loss. They don't much as much money as you think. $50 for online? That is nothing.

It was also a BD player when standalone BD players cost $1000.

A gtx 980 can't even do 1080p 60fps on every single game and it costs close to $600. How do we expect consoles to do this?
