The seiki 39" is a 4k 30hz tv that happens to do 1080@120hz. This panel is capable of higher refresh rates -VGA/HDMI: 30 - 99 kHz ; DP: 30 - 160 kHz (H) / VGA: 56 - 80 Hz ; HDMI/DP: 23 - 80 Hz (V). So provided you scale down the resolution to have ample bandwidth for the signal, you may be able to do 1080@120hz.

If only they didn't use low frequency PWM in it it would be real winner.

It can't be that bad, can it? I mean, I remember using 85 Hz CRT monitors without any problems, so a 240 Hz backlight has to be better than that. Or am I missing something?

Well the price tag seems ok, there are cheaper 40" 4k alternatives out there but they only support 30hz @ 4k, which is insanely lame for gaming. I am fine with 60 @ 4k but I'm not ready to pay that price just yet.
Currently gaming on a 40" 1080p @ 60hz tv and am slowly getting tired of it.
I guess it's better to wait for the next gen video cards and then get a capable 4k 40-50" tv.

Edit:
Just read that this tv is limited to 30hz at its native resolution. Screw that, there are equally good yet cheaper alternatives out there.

The monitor looks nice you would need to use Display port with it though , I'll get a 4k monitor in a couple of years

Display port you could use to get 60hz , it has one of those and a mini one too

Your edit is incorrect. This monitor does 60Hz at 4k using DP...
