Yeah...that is my fear actually but I agree. Will have to take the tubes out of the way and perhaps even the MB out to do that...

no pain no gain biggrin.gif

You gonna drill individual holes or just one big gap?

just a .75 inches or 1 in circular hole which I happen to have the mod/smart rubber pass thru in hand.

edit- well, just measured...It can not be those 1 in pass because there is not so much space there for it. will have to be something smaller....Ok, the .75 inches seems will fit the bill and look good

it would look like this:

Good question. Ideally I could cover them up since I don't think that's going to have any cables going through there. But the question is how? The only thing that occur to me is to use some of the plates from the 120 mm fan holes, cut it and fix it there using black screws but not sure how clean would look....Any suggestions? @Snef where are you mate? I would like your feedback on this subject of the pass through for the cpu cable wink.gif

I'll just throw some stuff out
You could:
- cover them with plates as you said but weld and repaint it.
- cover them with some sort of metal paste, repaint.
- buy a complete new cover (edit: not sure if that works..rivets?)
- route the cables a different way (split perhaps; 4 to the left, 4 to the right)
- buy an acrylic cover that you simple put atop the current cover

that's it for now on ideas..

no wait, here's another idea:
-you could add a long (front to back) L shaped cover
sort of like this, that way you won't have to make any new holes (except in the L- cover)

maybe others have better ideas..

Yep, thanks a lot for the ideas. Will drill the hole whether or not I will fill/cover the other two original pass through. It will look a lot cleaner. In fact already drained both loops to drill the holes for the d5 pump on the basement. Might as well drill this .75 pass through as I am with the drill in hand....biggrin.gif

on mine, I didn't make a a new hole, rad is really to close to the motherboard's 8 pins

the easiest way is put some cable combs and do a great clean cable to the passtrough, but its the easiest way and generally don't like it loll wink.gif

make the new hole, paint the grommets with white pastidip (or leave it black, its in your theme)
remove the black rubber u-channel and cut in fan cover some rectangle to cover the hole by under, but don't use screw, use contact glue or liquid welder
or if you are able to cut it the exact same size as hole

but the real way, I think, for my taste, hahaha redface.gif, but maybe to late, is cut a aluminum or white acrylic (maybe with white led in it) plate to cover the whole bottom and make hole for your pass trough fittings and the hole for the 8 pins

why not make a chess board with a new bottom acrylic plate with white led, this will fit perfectly with your theme, yep, I think its a good idea, wink.gif use vinyl to make the black sqare and it will not light up or harder but better white and black acrylic

Yep, thanks Snef. The idea of using contact glue or liquid welder is good one thks thumb.gif As Sortofgrim mention no pain no gain... so here is the pain:

and here is the gain:

Thank you both (snef and sortofgrim) for the input, ideas and incentive thumb.gif

The build is looking great! Interesting all the white stuff you got out of the filters.
