Game (mw2) getting more and more "choppy" "laggy" the longer I play? - Page 3

I'm not sure if anyone is still interested in this posting but I will continue to add replys more as a log for anybody with future problems like this can reference.

Okay so The other day I wanted to get a marathon of MW2 going to help narrow down the issues. I played probably a total of 15 games with breaks but never turning off and exiting the game.

Here's the key: I did not open up in game steam to talk to friends or start voice chat. when normally using the in game functions the problems would start to occur after 2 or 3 games, I went through 15 games with no issues.

Later that night, I came back on, entered a voice chat with my buddies and boom the problems started.

I reinstalled steam. No improvment. If this is the issue, is there anything steam could do for me to help?

i dont know whats wrong with your pc but i just been playing it for the last 2 hours fine with a 8350 was getting a full 91fps for the whole time

also i play it straight from steam on 2nd hard drive

just a thought have you removed 1 gpu and tried that as it could be something to do with crossfire

Is your chat in game or a separate program?

Yes. Not a crossfire issue. I had them fired, then one at a time, now I am running just one.

Also, I am running it the same way on steam on 2nd drive.

Steam is an in game chat.

Tonight I will be playing with the steam in game overview OFF to see what the issue is what that

Thank you to all of you who helped with this problem!

Yeah... when I'm playing a game I usually turn everything off that will take up CPU/GPU power.. theres also a program out there that turns off features on Windows.. not sure what its called , something boost... anyways looks like its not a GPU/CPU problem just a software issue.. glad you found the culprit! :thumb:
