Disable Boost and "Bake-In" Max Game Stable Clocks for Maxwell - Page 64

I am using Win10 Pro x64. I have already used DDU to reinstall drivers. I am running the latest drivers 362.00 and apparently Firestrike does not support them. I just ran a Firestrike Test and this is the result I got.

http://www.3dmark.com/3dm/11025006

I kept GPU-Z open and the only times I got a PerfCap limit was when Firestrike was changing scenes otherwise I never hit PerfCap.

Here is my GPU-z log file

Which version of Windows 10 are you running? 3dmark says 10240 so that might be one of the reasons for the problems. It's full of bugs :/ version 1511 (10586.xxx) works the best, the newest release :)you can check the version this way:
1. Press Windows + R
2. Type winver
3. There it says it

I still got win8.1 though...haha

Ah! Then you should have the updates installed. Would you like to check the version number? Press start and type WINVER and open that, it should show the version information, something like version 1511 (build 10586.104?)? The issues you got are so weird.. It's as if the card isn't getting enough power sometimes or that it's flaky, but I guess your power supply is good and working well? Crazy! The card could be faulty too though frown.gif

Would this guide work for a GTX970M? I've noticed the boost table is different?

Oh hey.. Would you mind sharing the bios you use? Did you make it according to OP instructions and extracted it with gpu z? Not using someone else's bios? I got issues until I remade the bios by extracting and then copying over values, after that it worked well biggrin.gif

I checked my Windows 10 version with winver and sadly it actually still was 10240, I have set it to update to the new ver 1511 though. I have an Antec 1000W TPQ-1000 Power Supply so that shouldn't be an issue.

I made my modded bios myself. I extracted the stock using GPU-z modded it with Maxwell Bios Tweaker 1.36 and flashed using NVFlash.

The current bios I am running is:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/otldcsvxxyvs73t/TDP_Volt%20Flash.rom?dl=0

My Full computer specs are :
  • GigaByte Z97M-D3H hardware rev 1.0 mobo
  • Intel i7-4790 (Non Unlocked)
  • 16GB (2 x 8) Corsair Vengeance DDR3 1600Mhz
  • MSI GTX 970 Gaming 4G
  • Antec TruePower Quattro 1000W TPQ-1000 Power Supply
  • Windows 10 Pro x64 (10240, am upgrading to 1511 as I type)

PS: I also noted a single artifact appeared during the Firestrike test, I think it happened during Graphics Test 2, my entire top half of the screen flashed red for half a second but it didn't happen after that. Could I be giving my card too much voltage for it being on stock clocks? I could lower the voltage to 1.24V or something and reflash. What do you think?

If that tab is clean (white) is ok from this point of view.

Also the gpu usage spikes could be a specific game u play ? Tried other games as well, modern games...

Are you saying that the PerfCap tab has to be white? Otherwise there are issues if it has anything in it?

Or am I misunderstanding something here.
If the perfcap tab is not white it means that there is something limiting the performance of your GPU. Itll usually have a code to go along with color. Like VOp would mean your performance is limited by the Voltage being supplied to your card.
