Disable Boost and "Bake-In" Max Game Stable Clocks for Maxwell - Page 69

Great write up. Only question I have is if you should do the same with your voltage table or how you would do the voltage table different if your going to leave boost enabled?

Hi, im having a weird issue with my 970. For now i have adjusted the power only so i can then find my max OC, as before my card would just drop core voltage when hitting the power limit, temps always around 65/66. Adding voltage never works on this card because of it, anyway i modified the power table and im now getting 0% usage in valley/games at temps never go over 60 degrees, fps also seems worse even though i tried 1500+ on the core where as before my max core clock was 1460. It seems to happen when i change the PCIE power, if i change the TDP power it goes back to normal but as you mentioned changing that on its own doesn't really do anything.

I'd suggest going to the link below, and having someone that knows what they're doing, make a bios for you.

Thanks for that il check it out, managed to fix it. Did i clean install of NVidia drivers and bam it worked. I copied the power table from the original post as i have the same gpu, msi 970. Seems to have worked, i got a slightly better overclock at +15 volts, but if i try to change the voltage up to 2.5v issue happens again, after few minutes of stress testing the voltage drops down to 2.3v temps around 67 max. I guess this card has an issue with power limits or something. The thing is before the card wouldn't even do 2.3v without hitting the power limit and dropping down to stock volts so it definitely helped a bit. I got +160 core +175mem core running at 1475. I definitely think the card could do over 1500 safely if it weren't for the power issues.

Hi peeps been a while since i posted here.. I ended up getting two rma gpus because another issue buggered my last two msi cards. anyhow. I have 2x msi 970gtx twin frozr cards, Heres what id like to know if anyone is still actively modding bioses..

I did a small mod myself on my two cards the only thing i did was to set the voltage table to 1.200 so both cards run at that all the time..

Before i did that both cards had a voltage discrepancy and both cards would boost to under 1400, however.. The default boost clock on my gtx 970s default rom shows 1445 in the boost table where the slider is. So what i will do here is post two roms. one default rom taken from card 1 as i used that default rom on both cards. and i will post the one edited rom aswell.

I have not modded the power tables or anything else..

The reason im going to do this is with the hope someone can put in better values for me to allow me to use afterburner to try and find my max stable overclock by just using the core slider.

however i also want to note that I want both cards voltages to remain the same when doing this i do not wish no -60mv discrepancies or anything. once i find the max overclock with the edited bios settings I would then maybe like to try and push the card a little further.

Just to note i have already tried overclocking these two cards with the voltage set at exactly 1.250 and if i go anywhere near 1500 core I get quite a few sparkly trianges etc. and i end up having to clock way back to get them to stop.. this is without touching the memory, i do suspect however it could be due to me not really being a pro modder for this bios..

PS my power supply is an evga 850w g2 incase thats needed,

Please guys take a look at these two bioses im including the default only for reference to show you what i changed myself on the voltage table of the second rom.

Sorry for the long winded explanation. thanks in advance for any possible help given.

default.zip 136k .zip file
edit.zip 136k .zip file

All i need is a proper edited bios from the default to allow me to find my maximum sli overclock with these two cards "on AIR". Thanks in advance
