Asus RT-N66U Stuck in Boot Loop.

Thread Starter
My 1 year old Asus Router is stuck in a boot loop. I have tried holding down the reset button while the device is unplugged and then plugging it in which is suppose to put it in recovery mode but I keep getting this error everytime I try to flash it back to factory settings.
Does anyone have this router and/or has possibly experienced this same issue? If so please share because I'm at wits end with this $180 router. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Did you try logging directly to 192.168.1.1 while in recovery mode?

You may want to try setting adapter to static ip like 192.168.1.100 or something with 192.168.1.1 as gateway.

I had to fix packet loss issue on my n66u today AFTER uploading firmware (apparently you cant even do that?). I noticed the router takes a LONG time to reboot, I had to wait for 10 minutes after firmware uploaded/installed to be able to use it properly.

Make sure to clear the nvram before flashing.
