Hi guys got some news for PC players.

Rockstar will use new DRM system in GTA 5 for PC. This system is Denuvo, which also used in FIFA 15 and Lords of the Fallen.
This System uses special code which changes every time so this DRM is still not hacked, and I think it wont be.
No more piracy on PC and only way you can play GTA 5 its Steam.

Got this info today. Also today Denuvo updated partners on their site. Rockstar now here too. So its confirmed.

Site http://www.denuvo.com

I think it is good they fight piracy, but Denuvo is very hard DRM and some people can have crashes or another issues like in Lords of the Fallen.
What are you think?

Looks like I'm not spending my money :]

Mod Edit:

This has since been debunked in at least one way.

I haven't played FIFA 15 and Lords of the Fallen but as long as it isn't obtrusive idc.

can't be worse than GFWL like GTA4...

Well Lords of the Fallen runs like crap and crashes a lot due to this DRM.

Is it a silent DRM? do I have to do anything or be online everytime I play? does it limit the amount of installs?

Don't care, I buy my games. The less pirating = devs might make better PC games.

ooooo yuck. Might have to pump the brakes on this purchase...

Does it require that I be connected to the internet every time I launch/play?
if this in no way affects gameplay, i could care less about drm. i have some other ideas about "stealing" music/movies but pirating new games like this is just dumb. (you'll pretty much be inviting some guy from russia to steal your identity IMO when pirating games like this)

however, i certainly won't be shelling out any $ until after launch when its been verified that things are running smoothly.

I bought Lords of the Fallen and I didn't even notice a DRM, so this is news to me. But I know the game has/had some serious stability problems, not sure if it was related.

I give it a week tops before it's cracked.

Probably. This is R* injecting cancer into any hype they had on PC. Why put an extra DRM layer onto GTA V tho, if you're already gonna distribute it through Steam?

I'm going to hold off untill I get to hear/see some firsthand experiences. Until then, F you too Rockstar. You killed a truckload of hype in about 2 seconds. kookoo.gif
