So, I'm not great with design programs, so my epic MS Paint skills will have to do.

First of all, how much horizontal space is there in the case, for the likes of rad/fan mounting? Can the PSU be rotated like it is in this picture, or is that a very early design that you decided to scrap? If the latter is true, what if I decided to mount something like Silverstone's SFX-L PSU in a similar fashion to the way you have the PSU mounted now? Say, like this:

(Definitely not to scale, but you get the idea, I hope.) All that would take would be a custom-machined bracket (which would be pretty easy to make) that adapts the existing PSU mount to the SFX mount.

My thinking is that this would allow a bit more wiggle room on depth of side radiators, plus possibly give the opportunity to lower the PSU bracket, allowing for a 27mm rad and a pair of slim fans, or trimmed fans, like in the Golden Nugget Hadron build:

Secondly, I assume, based on GPU length, etc, that there's room enough in this case to put one of these boards? I'd love to squish 2 GPUs in it.

Just a couple of Saturday morning thoughts from your friendly neighborhood enthusiast.

Edit: Wow, this post is a lot longer than I initially wanted it to be.

I'm strongly considering paining the other case that way, but I would have to make these trims and foot in mild steel, which is not a problem. Another option is to use aluminium and anodise it, but it may start to be costly.

I actually have 2 brackets and this picture is correct. It can be mounted like in early pictures - I actually have that bracket powder coated black. I will have to use it if I decide to buy H100i

Going to SFX psu range is not a problem at all. I would have to make another simple bracket. I could then lower that PSU to easily fit rad and fans at the top. Whatever difference in length of sfx psu is (? mm) - that's how much room we could gain. Then there would be plenty of room for pump/res combo next to that psu like on your sketch.

Well let's see some more demand for this kind of solution. I would like to encourage people to leave some input.

Last thing - what on earth is this motherboard???? I love it! Give us some spec please.

The motherboard is a board out of the Shuttle SX79R5 barebones:

The best description people have made of the form factor is "Extended Mini-DTX," and it doesn't seem to be available anywhere else. It's a 2011-v1 socket, so older Extreme series chips and some Xeons. My biggest issue with it is that there's no way to simply get the board on its own, so the cost for it comes out to ~$500. It's not an exceptional board in any way other than its unique form factor. The next closest thing is ASRock's X99E-ITX/ac, which is what I think I would actually put in this case if I got one:

I put all my hopes into other manufacturers following asrock into this mitx business. I bet it is going to happen and it will be evga who will come out with one.

It'd be absolutely insane at this point to ask you if it's possible to swap the motherboard orientation at this point, wouldn't it? Something similar to way Hex Gear, CaseLabs, or Parvum have implemented it?

Take a look at early photos. This "C" frame can be rotated. All you would have to do is swap the foot and top strip with logo on it. Then your gpu is on top and so on but psu would be on the bottom.

Even the front can be mounted at 180 degrees if someone wouldn't like the power button on the bottom. I would have to make a hole for that button though on the opposite side.

Edit:

It's a good idea. I will defo include this in my tweaks. thumb.gif

Do the side panels match each other? I'm just wondering because flipping the motherboard would also change which side panel is the "back", so to speak.
