Is it really that awesome? I guess I was thinking crazy numbers like 7.2 were par for an overclock. But that's why I'm here. To learn how and to make each system I build as stable and fast as I possibly can.

You might have gotten one of those golden chips that can do 5.4 ghz. Definitely get some form of VRM cooling though.

So I should add some more air flow over them on top of the heat sinks? I hope it is just that. I would love to take it that high just to have it work.

Ended up with a cooler master heat sink which is doing a wonderful job of keeping it around 28 under normal conditions and 45 at full cap. Dropped a Msi r9 720x in there and it's steady at 108fps with out the overclock. Still going to tweak it a bit but 4.5ghz is doing wonders. smile.gif

You can cable tie fans or bolt them on and then mount it back onto your cooler it will increace airflow and if you set fans running on slow speeds you will get same more more ariflow than 2 fans but without noise
45C at full load you need to push some voltages perferabllly 0.08V more on the CPU and that should give you a 4.7GHZ stable keeping temps under 66C
Its currently running too cool and your wasting your cooler

That's cool. I have the same motherboard with an FX 6100 and CM Hyper 212X never tried going beyond 3.8GHz, but awesome non the less thumb.gif
