COD: Advanced Warfare Multiplayer PC Settings that alleviated pretty much all of my stuttering (alot of people I played with called it lag).

Hello there overclockers.

After quite some testing, (at least for me), I have found a solution that made my Advanced Warfare Multiplayer experience heavenly (in terms of performance and stuttering that is). I will link my imger pics of my exact settings that I currently use to play Advanced Warfare Multiplayer, but the very key and important settings that made my gameplay smooth as it can be is:

(1) Turning Off "Shadows"
(2) Setting Extra for "Shadow Map Resolution" (I've tried the lower High and Normal settings, doesn't alleviate the stuttering for me)
(3) Turning On "Cache Sun Shadow Maps"
(4) Turning Off "Cache Spot Shadow Maps"

Here is the imgur link to my pics of my settings: http://imgur.com/rTvJmIz,t1CJ3B8,OUsxCGE,8wixCV4,elfvQ2v

I know that most online tweak guides for Advanced Warfare recommend to turn off both cache options due to causing low resolution textures, but I've found out that "Cache Spot Shadow Maps" causes most of the blurry low resolution textures. When I turn on "Cache Sun Shadow Maps," the textures remain exactly however you set them (minimum or maximum). I run them on maximum as my pics show, and the textures are not low res. And since I have a bit of extra horsepower (GTX 980), I also turned on 2x SMAA, and 2x Supersampling, and there are very little to no distracting jaggies that I can see (they are still there if I look hard enough, but thanks to the supersampling and SMAA combo, I see my opponents much easier). I recommend those who have similar setups like mine to do what I do (If you do not have a GTX 970/980, then simply turn off Supersampling, and you should be able to run my exact settings with even like a GTX 760 and still maintain the 91FPS cap at all times). I am able to maintain the FPS cap at all times, never drops below (unless I end up on a high ping/lag server).

Also, a few other minor tweaks that I have done, involving the config_mp.cfg file (located in: . . . . Steamapps/common/COD Advanced Warfare/Players2) are:

(1) Change my cl_maxping setting from default 800 value to 100 (allegedly makes sure that you are in better ping servers)
(2) cl_yawspeed and cl_pitchspeed from both their default 140 values to 0.
(3) Make sure that my r_videoMemoryscale is set to 1 (for some users, it might be less than one, like 0.85. You don't want this as the game will read less of your Graphics memory).
(4) seta in_mouse from default 1 value to 2 (For this one to stick, the config_mp.cfg file must be in Read-Only).

NOTE: For all of the minor tweaks listed, the only one that doesn't stick when you launch the game is seta in_mouse. The other ones will stay with or without config_mp.cfg being set to Read-Only. So if you do not want to tweak the seta in_mouse setting, then you would not need to set the cfg file to Read-Only.

Now, as stated in the title and this post, I can only speak for the Multiplayer portion of Advanced Warfare, but not the Single Player atm. I might look into the Single Player settings later, but for now, the imgur pics display the best settings for me. Give it a try!

Mind if I ask exactly what AMD CPU you are using (I presume you are due to your statement).

Also, I wouldn't be too quick to say such a blanket statement like as if it isn't effective for ALL amd cpus simply because of one case. Just some food for thought.
Also, according to your "Budget Gaming PC" rig, I noticed that you are/were using an EVGA GTX 650 Ti Boost Card, which is not exactly a beefy card to use (Advanced Warfare is abit on the demanding side, but not too much). Although, your profile pic shows that you seem to be using a Sapphire R9 card [280(x), or 290(x)], which would be quite sufficient to play Advanced Warfare in terms of GPU requirements.

I am FAR from the only person experiencing issues with this game. Check various forums, it's a pretty consistent issue amongst AMD owners.

The problem is the game seems to be heavily CPU dependent and is consistently hitting 100% CPU usage.
