Installed Windows 8.1, installed my progs, worked, system froze, rebooted, hard drive missing, shut down, removed hard drive, tested hard drive, inserted hard drive, booted, client reverted to a fresh state, reconfigured, now this crap.

Help!

All of that is from Win 8.1?

Sounds like either you have a permission problem on your Roaming Profile (C:\Users\**username**\AppData\Roaming\FAHClient\cores) and you need to get permission back; or, your FAH is corrupted on your system.

First try to make sure you have all the permissions necessary, you should have "full control". Start at the FAHCLient directory and give yourself full control, and make sure you apply it to all child directories

Otherwise, just remove FAH, remove the FAHClient directory in the Roaming\AppData directory (if the system doesn't) and then reinstall. Just make sure that you save your config.xml file somewhere first so you don't have to re-enter all that "stuff".

Those are my recommendations.

GL!!

Okay what's happening is FAHClient is writing/reading to/from I have no clear where. The data folder set at installation is empty but the client is loading a config with 2 gpu slots and a separate passkey for one of them.

And FAHControl won't open...

Uninstalled, scrubbed all traces, reinstalled, same thing. I have no idea where its loading that config from.

PURGE THE SYSTEMS! Sorry, I'd suggest performing a full search for a keyword in the config.

And to top it off, my mouse just died... it's getting a sledgehammer taken to it in the morning, then I'm burning the pieces.

@dman811 You have TC editing powers? I'm gonna have to drop out until I actually feel like dealing with this, which will be probably be never at this rate.

Yes I do.

Hmm...haven't had any issues with V7...at least none that I can remember.

Blame it on Gremlins!

Edit:
I myself...I'm building a WIn7 load for my 6124HE 16-core 2P. I want to see how it does with NaCl...cause it does diddley with Core3s. I'm hoping to get more than 28k credits/day...which I think is quite possible!

Was going to put 2x 6166HE chips in, for 24 cores, but I changed my mind. I want to save those for that bad board I may one day RMA and get fixed.

But Gizmo is so CUTE!

I ran it on 2 Xeon E5-2450L's last year and it would use all 32 threads.

Well I figured maybe I should try creating a new account, the client portion started, says not configured, good thing, waited a while for it start folding using default, downloading, blah blah blah, access denied... sigh. Would rather not have to reinstall the whole OS just because V7 is a crappy piece of software.

1) Google "TakeOwnership"
2) Install it
