thats a good price. the reflection is due to a glossy screen instead of a mat finish screen,
I have owned glossy screen monitors and had no problem and liked them, if there are bright lights behind you
they can show up on the screen due to the glossy finish, same as lots of big screen t.v.'s do.
the one review where the guy claims he could see himself in the screen is full of it, that will only happen if the monitor is turned off with just a black display.

Hmmmm that could be a problem, I have lights in my roof that go behind my desk.....would those be an issue?

I don't think lights that high up would be a problem.
just about every monitor in the office building my wife works in has glossy screen
monitors and there are lights everywhere and every position with no reflection problems that are worth complaining about.

The S2740L suffers from very obvious overshoot ghosting, is extremely reflective and the glass makes blacks look grey. Dell released a new version, the S2715H which is glossy, far less reflective and has less ghosting.

Left glass vs. glossy right

Black screen displayed on the S2740L on the left vs. a glossy monitor

PC Monitors reviewed the S2415H which should be the same as the S2715H.

Because people sit far closer to monitors, and most people sit really far away from their TV's (10ft+).

The Dell S2415H is larger than the P2314H which is matte. If you want a glossy monitor get the Dell S2415H or S2715H. Only HP's glossy 23 Envy is PWM/Flicker free while their 27" IPS are not. The Dell P2714H is also not PWM/Flicker Free. If you want a matte 27" monitor the LG 27MP35HQ (Product Page) is PWM/Flicker Free (some of LG's monitors are advertised as Flicker Free or Safe). Make sure you read about the side effects caused by PWM here.

Maybe, but I still don't like the smaller screen.
