Is there any real performance gain when choosing TridentZ over Ripjaws? I noticed that TridentZ is always more expensive even when it has same speed and timings as Ripjaws. Like for example:
G.Skill Ripjaws V DDR4, 2x8GB, 3200MHz, CL16 (F4-3200C16D-16GVKB)
G.Skill Trident Z DDR4, 2x8GB, 3200MHz, CL16 (F4-3200C16D-16GTZKW)

Where is the catch?

Trident Z are supposed to be better binned but I still have the best 1 CPU AIDA64 cache and memory benchmark on HWBot with my Ripjaws, just someone with a dual CPU recently beat me, was #1 overall for non-L2N a few months. redface.gif

That sounds fantastic, conrats man smile.gif
Then I guess I would be better of with 3400 Ripjaws rather than paying extra for 3200 Trident Z. Particularly I find these a good bang for the buck: F4-3400C16D-16GVK. However this kit is advertised for Z170/X99 chipset. Should I expect any hicups with running them at 3400Mhz when installed in Z270?

Z170, Z270, it's all good. smile.gif

Here's my Trident 3200MHz 16Gb thumb.gif for my itx build.
Pairing this with an OCed 7350k should be fun biggrin.gif

I've got a question. I just put in some g skill trident z RGB 3466 64gb kit and running it at 3200 14-14-14-34-2t.

Ran some aida64 benchmarks and I get varying like 82-84 on read and copy but on write it's like 63-64. Any idea why it's so much lower than the other two.

5960x@4.5
Rampage V extreme
64gb 3466c16 trident z RGB. Kit is using b die Samsung chips.

Rampage tweak is set to mode 2 currently.

Any tips? Or anything I can do or is it normal.

Normal. If you want higher, overclock cache.

CPU cache? It's at 4.0 right now so if I bump it up more the write will increase for the dram?
