FX-8310 - Page 26

You can reserve the enable max turbo clock higher for single thread performance than max clock for all cores that stresses the psu, motherboard and cpu. I can still push 214 to a max of 222.
Update: 217 still ok.

KeyShot computes power: Frequency (Ghz) x no. of cores = computing power. Divide the settled FPS rate from KeyShot with sum of the previous equation to get the performance ratio. The higher the ratio, better performance/efficiency.

3.689 Ghz x 8 = 29.512
44 FPS / 29.512 = 1.490

Good score there. I have attached KeyShot performance xls.png from the KeyShot forum benchmarks as a reference.

Lot better and less stressful to my existing mb and psu than the FX6350:thumb

Interesting, thanks for posting that smile.gif

Rockin my 8310 at 4.59ghz...:-) I rarely ever have any issues and it run's pretty damn stable for now. Using the Evo 212 for cooling in an Air 540 case.

rarely have issues???

Could you do a prime95 max-heat test for me? I get issues at much anything faster than 4.3ghz as soon as I hit 60C. I suspect you will too

He's probably talking about normal and not p95 but then again with the 212 cooler I expect it to hit high 50s at that clock speed even while gaming.

Very much so. Unless my ambient temps are hotter than normal, I rarely hit 60c as is. I see no reason to run it through Prime 95, because yes, it's going to eat **** for no reason. The highest temps I see under heavy gaming at 1080p with all settings maxed(really any game) while watching a 1080p movie and surfing the net(I run three monitors) has be 59c, but that is RARE. Normally it caps out around 55 and holds steady there.

Your mobo may be an issue as well. I'm really NOT a fan of any gigabyte products as everyone that I've owned has failed me in one way or another. Also, what fan/fans are you running on that heatsink of yours? How is your airflow within your case? Your psu could also use an upgrade with the voltages that it caps at.

This is my setup. The site won't let me build my rig on here, so for now this will have to do.

I'm running an FX 8350 on a gigabyte 4+1 phase mobo so I keep it at 4.6Ghz.
