I'd love a space sim stick, but excluding that monstrosity Psyclum linked they don't exist. And if they did exist, you'd still be better off buying a flight sim stick at this point because the flight mechanics in both Elite: Dangerous and Star Citizen are NOT being modeled around a true 6DOF model. They are being built around the idea of the game feeling good and being fun while using..... You guessed it, a flight sim stick.

Because that is what is available, and what everyone who owns hardware for the game owns. If you were planning on buying either Star Citizen or Elite: Dangerous solely because of the idea of a 6DOF flight model in space you are going to be sorely disappointed, both games have flight models reminiscent of any WWII fighter sim, with Star Citizen having the lousy, cheap, programmers have never sat in a prop plane feel and Elite: Dangerous having the sleek, sexy, I'm a god of the sky riding in a 5000 horsepower chariot across the horizon feel.

Pick one. wink.gif

I do up/down/side thrusters all the time in Elite with the top stick hat. I love hats so much!

I only wished to have a stick where you'd have a better method for using these thrusters, so you got your hats and thumbs free for targeting and firing multiple weapons.

Scheming on building one myself by tearing apart an old 360 pad and mounting one of the thumbsticks in a grip so that it sits in the middle of my left palm. Just trying to figure out how to do it so that I can comfortably move my hand around while keeping the rest of the buttons I'll have to put in the grip within reach of my fingers, since I'll be giving up a half a keyboard's worth of functions unless it feels good to use and has the correct sensitivity.

rudders?
You can barely see them in the lower left corner. I honestly havnt hooked them up. They slide on the carpet when just messing with them. Going to have to figure something out to mount them on. Would also like to mount my HOTAS to the chair so its easy to reach and comfortable to relax and play.

for the rudder on carpet, I would think Velcro is your friend, as far as mounting the thrustmasters, i''m facing the same dilemma
