Hello Everyone,

We're happy to bring you our new, special edition driver called Catalyst Omega. This driver was engineered to take new advantage of the advanced technologies built into our products as we've found new ways of using an existing architecture to deliver exciting new features.

Before downloading the driver, I suggest you read the blog which provides information about its features, benefits and how this driver enables developers to deliver outstanding user experiences.

The Catalyst Omega special edition driver is the biggest and the best software upgrade AMD has released this year. It's our way of saying 'Thank you' for providing your feedback by using our Issue Reporting Form all along…very helpful.

Click here to download the driver. (You can choose to use either our Driver Autodetect Tool or select your operating system version which will take you to the corresponding download page).

For instructions on how to uninstall or install the AMD Catalyst Software Suite, you may refer to the following support resources:

How-To Uninstall AMD Catalyst™ Drivers From A Windows® Based System
How-To Install AMD Catalyst™ Drivers For A Windows® Based System

Please make sure to read the Feature Highlights and the Known Issues sections to learn more about this version of the driver and continue to use the Issue Reporting Form to report any issues/bugs you may find.

Thank you and Happy Holidays.

Hello again everyone,

I have an update for you:

Some users have reported that the Catalyst Omega drivers are failing to install since the drivers are 'unsigned' and the device manager shows a Code 52 error.

The Catalyst Omega driver is WHQL certified, so all components are signed.

The root cause is Microsoft update KB3004394 - (Windows Root Certificate Program in Windows) which was pushed yesterday.

Uninstalling the update fixes the driver installation issue.

You can read more about the various issues this update causes here

Note that this update affects both Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 users since the KB is applicable to both OS versions.

Hi, is this 14.12?

#4 ·
I am going to assume that it won't bring anything fresh to the table for HD6XXX users?

#6 ·
okay i downloaded the new 14.12 and installed it. before this update call of duty AW would crash within a min of starting i could not get crossfire to work at all. after update crossfire works great vsr works great 4K on a 1920 x 1080 looks great runs great for me. but i got one error and i don't think it has anything to do with amd. i got the ndis.sys bsod.

#7 ·
Ndis.sys is something to do with a wireless or Ethernet adapter. Definitely network related.

Here is my first results with this driver:

In Dragon Age inquisition 7680x1440, the game gains around 13fps using DX11, MANTLE really sucks hard but it did also before this driver. The only difference is that before it sucked less...

Overall I would say that to me with a huge resolution the game worked better before, but it could be just my spidey sense so take this with a bit of salt.

I didn't run any benchmark because i am not very interested in that stuff, i prefer in-game tests.

Going to test BF4 as soon as i will be back from work tonight.

#9 ·
I have installed it and restarted but now have Far Cry 4 crashing every time in 4k mode and it was stable before.
Running 295x2.
Have to run it in 2k res just too play it. Hope there's an update fix soon.

#10 ·
Just to add to that, the whole computer freezes and have to force restart, can't even open task manager. Never had this issue before when using 14.11

Wifes Titan blacks still run fine in 4k and she's never had an issue yet.
Over the last couple of months I'm really regretting not using 980's, ATI seems to always have issues in comparison.
Still no crossfire support either as most games these days, and have also tried a few of the latest games and have not noticed any performance change at all.

Thank you everyone for providing your feedback/comments about this version of our driver. To those of you who are experiencing issues, please use our Issue Reporting Form (see link in OP) to report any bugs/issues at your feedback is very important to us. Thank you.

Just installed this driver on my 7950 and it took but 10 mins. The uninstall feature is gone, so that made it quicker to install. I just installed it over the last Beta.

Now, I am not recommending you do the same but I've always used the uninstall function embedded in the new driver but, like I said, i did not find it this time. I'll test BF4 later and if everything is fine I'll install the same on my 290s.

OK I just installed this. Now no video boards are detected. Just low-resolution "Microsoft Display Adapter"

I been running the 14.x betas without issue.

I thought software is generally supposed to become MORE stable and as something closer to a release build because typically less drastic changes are made as the final bugs are ironed out?

I had the same problem. Could never get it to detect my cards, installed software but not the graphic drivers. Used DDU after uninstall, re-installed the driver multiple times, over itself, after rebooting again, etc... rolled back to the last beta. A waste of 45min of my life!

Double check you got the correct version for windows 8 or windows 7.

My problem was that I initally downloaded the Windows 7 driver.... I just clicked on the Raptor popup and downloaded the first thing I saw without really paying attention. I ran DDU and installed the correct driver.

Too early in the morning for me!

after not being able to install 14.9 i was hoping the next whql would work well it did kinda it didn't freeze (freeze refer to this thread http://www.overclock.net/t/1525533/any-driver-after-14-4-does-not-work)

but after downloading and using ddu i select custom (so i dont have to install gaming evolved) and there is no audio or display driver in the list just install manager, accelerated video, and control center

there is no freeze like before but it's not installing an audio or display driver and there is none in the list

any help anyone? thanks
