I'm pretty sure they are glued in the Gen 1 blocks. Can be removed if you heat the fittings with a hair dryer and after the glue is melted, you can use pliers to get them out (hope i remembered it right). Theres a post with a guy removing the fittings. somewhere like around page 27

As far as i know, the fittings are glued in place on the block on both revisions. There are people here and on other forums as well who have been able to remove them. But its a bit of a risk from what i gahter, as you could damage the reservoir by removing them.

I was considering removing them myself as i really would like 90 degree fittings on the block.

Well I had wondered why I needed to top my cooler up, some said it just needs it occasionally, other said, the water must be going somewhere, well that somewhere opened up more last night and the cooler failed.

Happy to say the backplate saved my GPU and no damage other than staining to the GPU/mobo. But of course the Dye is my own responsibility.

Sorry to see this !

Was this a rev. 1 or rev.2 block?

The coolant levels in my rev2 block seem to stay stable and i am checking regulary for sings of cracks or leaks. But i am seriously concidering getting rid of the block alltogether and just going for an EKWB block with a standalone reservoir. I have already decided to get a standalone pump with more power as well.

It was a rev1 block, so I am kind of not too surprised, I think the redesign was very important.
they are sending me a new block out, such a quick response, I like how they take customer care very seriously, you don't see that from some of the big AIO players even with a big warranty RMA can be time consuming and inconvenient.

Lets see how this new block goes, I am still willing to support the new guys.

I realized that my rev 1 block was also leaking from that exact same corner but i think my fans blew it off at an angle. I am very thankful for my GPU backplate as well. Would've dropped right on the GPU chip itself if plate wasnt there. Good Luck with the new block! Now you're gonna have 2 pumps biggrin.gif. Enough to run a full custom loop if the pump can be removed.

Out of curiosity how often do y'all have to refill/top off the coolant?

In all honesty, So far, the new block does not show any sign of lowered water levels. The old Rev 1 block was around 3 months for me. But then again, California summer+no AC= 100C

Rev1 block the same here in the UK topped up after first 3 months, but looking at the pump cable I think a tiiny leak has been going on for a long time, I have been very lucky.
