It might last a month or a year but it will fail completely at some point.

1.63V is high even for a 45nm HKMG SOI part let alone for 28nm BULK.
For Kaveri anything over 1.45V is pointless and just stupid.

So point in case, when overclocking kaveri, keep it under 1.45?

Good luck on the Dremel work, post some pics of it please?

The shroud is not one you can just remove?

Well as it turned out, Thermaltake being the great company of engineers that they are made that upper half of the HDD Bay modular, and it was removed easily by pressing two plastic tabs. I did do a little customization by taking that module and making it a harness for yet another fan!

So after taking out the upper HDD module in the case and turning it into a fan module, and installing the R9 290 here's what it looks like now.

I also re-arranged the Kraken a bit so that if I decide I need to add a fan on the RAM, it will actually be able to fit. I'm going to mess with the OC a little bit and once I'm happy with it, I will post some benchmarks.

Looks nice, how is the 290 working out so far?

I have some friends (not on OCN) that do not believe me that my 7850K is not bottlenecking a 970, so it will be cool to see how well it pushes that 290.

Sorry, it's been an insane couple of days at work. I really haven't had a chance to put it through it's paces. I can say that it runs SWTOR on Ultra settings, and that at first I was having issues with Thief. (came free with the APU). As it turns out, ASUS GPU Tweak was seeing the R7 iGPU and applying settings to the R9 that just weren't meshing well. After disabling the iGPU as you had previously suggested, I immediately started seeing a boost in performance, at least in my 3DMark scores

http://www.3dmark.com/3dm/5076688 is not super duper great, but it's respectable for what I've built. A Mid-Range Gaming PC

As far as bottlenecks, so far the limitations I've seen have been with the GPU. The 7850K overclocked to 4.7Ghz has done more than keep up with it! Using GPU Tweak I decided to see how far I could push the R9 and took it to 1180Mhz at full power, and the 7850K kept up wonderfully. I don't think I'll ever keep it at those levels, but I'll at least set it back so I can run a benchmark.

Just to show off, yesterday my new LG Monitor came in! LG 25" Class 21:9 UltraWide IPS Monitor

I also said I would be replacing the cheap Rosewill fans soon! Those came in today. Cooler Master JetFlo120's. Already my case is at a livable volume. I was on conference calls the past few days and had to explain that I was not on the tarmac of my local airport, and that the sound was in fact my computer not a heli.

Also, while waiting on conference calls all morning, I upgraded my OS to the newest Windows 10 Enterprise Tech Preview. So far it's not too shabby!
