Asus DCII 280x V2 dead

Asus DCII 280x v2 (same cooler as the 7970) appears to be dead. The monitor(s) will not receive a signal from the card. It is not being detected as the second card in crossfire. I've done pretty much everything to narrow down it being the GPU.

Its fitted with an EK water block, so obviously my warranty is void. But I think the card can still be repaired, as it is receiving power according to the LED indicators. So can I still RMA this thing? Even if I have to pay for it? Honestly never had to RMA or repair anything before.

Well, if you have the cooler, try slapping it back on and giving the RMA a try...

It won't be much fun with Asus, but if it blatantly doesn't work, they may honor it.
I know they gave lots of people hard time over the 280x RMA's, but that was because they were having artifact issues that couldn't be replicated consistently when testing.
You have a clear cut case of dead card, so they may send you a reman.

Just out of curiousity, have you tried other outputs on the card besides the one you typically use?
Different cables, displays, etc? I know that's all elementary, but figured I'd ask.

Sometimes, as deep thinkers, we overlook the simple stuff.

Also, my Asus 280x would sometimes fail to show display, and I would have to remove the power dongles, re-seat the card, and then it would get video.

Good luck man!

Yea both DP and DVI on two different monitors made zero difference. She's dead Jim.

I guess I'll have to just search around for a used 280x V2 or a 7970 after the holidays. For now its staying put in my loop, unless someone directs me to something else.
