Man that is infuriating. You'd think they'd be able to not throw everything around they handle. I hope they at least pay for this, there's a good reason why packages are insured.

B, I know how you feel all too well. I had a 10k system destroyed by Fedex, a few months ago... I am still fighting the claim on it for the system.

This is what I am shipping systems in now, http://www.pelican.com/

Sadly UPS will only pay what was stated in the value of said item when it was picked up, so if ASUS failed to claim the full value and pay for more than the standard $250 US insurance coverage then that is all that will be paid.

You all remember the opening scene from Ace Ventura pet detective, my Bro in law laughed so hard his stomach hurt, he said it was so true, he is a retired UPS employee.

Very nice build, I really like how you incorporated the res. in to the case its self

(edit)
those pelican boxes look sturdy but what to do about the damaged caused by the sudden stop when it hits the ground from 10 feet up

Before you could even get some proper pictures as well. That seriously sucks to hear.

Didn't think when I put this thread up on the homepage a couple of weeks ago that the ending would be so bad...

Are you going to rebuild it or are you off onto something new?

ASUS have kindly gone about organizing replacement parts,PSU is untrustworthy as it got coolant in,both GPU blocks were unusable and one GPU is dead. Hans at HEXGEAR is sorting replacement panels and I have the job of basically rebuilding it.

I have to say im not really looking forward to it as I have pressing builds for In Win to do too. It will be going along in the background but she will rise again!

Oh boy....2 weeks away from OCN and this happening. It looks like those case panels (perhaps the whole case) would have to be replaced and painted again. Those people at UPS should burn in hell for been so careless with packages...Seriously. It is their jobs. If you don't like it find another one or do it properly.

Sorry B. If there is anything I could do to help just drop a PM mate. If I was in England I would take you to a pub to get seriously drunk....

Sadly I will have to redo all the external panels, interior will be done again too to as the backing coat is a custom mix and I dont want mismatch.

Its just one of those things that is a problem with couriers.

The person at the very end of the delivery trip is a huge X factor to the quality of the delivery. The person who drops off your package may be a careless jerk who hates his job, or he could be someone new that replaces a familiar face and as a result he is confused by your address and then reroutes your package to a shipping center. They haven't yet gotten to a degree of consistency where these problems could be avoided.

Well, theres a hint of promise for the re-build, but on the bright side at least Idoru got its chance to shine at EGX!

I prefer Anvil Cases myself, but Pelicans are nice, too.
