It wasn't. Not only did they improve the cooling on Rev 4.0 but went to digital phases which is clear on the box if you look at it. =) Some other things, but anything from Rev 3.0 was shoddy as they screwed something up with the cooling. I've herd rev 1.0 suffered too, but you can fix all of those issues with aftermarket cooling options. However the VRMs still sucked, sooooooo when they went digi with rev 4.0 it fixed a LOT of issues.

Rev 1.0 was good, I had one. The only issue with it was the vdroop for me.

As far as AMD UD3's go, rev 1.1 is solid. You just have to look after your vrm temps as there's no sensor or protection/throttling. Rev 3.0 is plagued with weird problems and throttling at modest OC's. Honestly 4.0 isn't better than 1.1 either, too many problems. 1.0 was solid too just no LLC.

Yeah gigabyte lie about their products, asus do whatever they can to deny rma, asrock has qc problems. I am left with only msi to buy stuff from. I really hope they don't pull something shady and leave me with no choice at all.

Gigabyte is the ONLY AMD board I'll buy, I've tried Asus, ECS, MSI, Asrock, and others....I've had really good luck with Gigabyte.

Now Intel, I'd probably with with MSI or ASUS...but idk
