Hey guys,

Noob question. With respects to Folding obviously, would it be possible to fold with 2x 960 cards and 1x980 ? I have a spare slot, I was just going to get another 960 but wanted to check before hitting the trigger.

Cheets guys.

Ya, completely possible. FAHControl might get them confused and will show your 980 PPD on a 960, or vice versa, but that's not too much of a big deal. It can be irritating though.

It might, I am folding on a 960 right now and it says it uses 64% of the TDP. So that would be around 78W out of the 120W the TDP. Extrapolating for the 2048 cores of the 980 your 1 KW PSU should be ok. Just be advised that each folding nvidia GPU will ask for it's own thread of the CPU.

Thanks for the information ! I should imagine it will be enough after doing my own Math. Yeah I know that Nvidia Folding is more reliant on the CPU compared to AMD. The PC will be an 8 core in anycase smile.gif

BTW I am getting around 140kPPD on 9201 WUs on Fah Core 17, my card stays most of the time at 1455MHz boost clock at 50 deg C. These are stock clocks, no ovc! MaintenanceBot posts 188k PPD on WU9201 at 1550MHz core but under Ubuntu 14.04.
