So, the sun didn't come out till late today and i was hoping to do some more painting. HOWEVER bad luck seems to be following me. here is my day so far.

1. attempt to sand down the gloss finish i put on the blue painted panels so i can put on a better even coat.... paint says... NO
2. attempt to remove dust from 2 week painted white panel ready for more coats and top coat... aerosol turns old paint to liquid and makes dust stick to it... paint says NO

solution to problems....

1. use paint cans as flame throwers to burn useless items in a bin so as not to make unnecessary mess but still cause enough destruction to satisfy my current frustration issues
2. find a company to pain this stuff for me because i just seem to be failing miserably.

Signing off for the week hopefully will hear some exciting news from Diamond Cooling soon to spend my money on and cheer me up biggrin.gif

Hey everyone just a quick update to let you know what's going on.

Diamond Cooling should be getting back to me very soon with designs and quotes so hopefully can get at least the reservoir or the psu shroud done soon.

unfortunately ringing around many paint shops to actually get it painted properly will be another months wages so this may have to wait. The weather has also not allowed me to get out in the garden on my days off to attempt to paint any thing again.

There will be another small setback in my time scale as i just booked my tickets for holidays this year, Amsterdam, Geneva and Japan all before August, but im hoping that when i go to Japan I'll be able to pick up a couple of components out there fingers crossed.

i have been pretty quiet on the build recently as i was helping a friend (@Alexathros) build his first computer which turned out great, though i did nearly brick my current rig in the process O.O

I have ordered my new keyboard as I'm giving this one to the aforementioned friend along with another Logitech Performance MX Mouse as I've enjoyed my current one but that is going to the same person also and for under £50 you cant really go wrong.

Another Setback out of choice though, I did sell him my PSU (EVGA 850W G2 Supernova) as pc part picker were way off base with their estimated 245W -__- so i need to also find another £150-£200 to purchase another one, I'm thinking i might bump up to 1000W or so just to give me a bit more room should i want to change anything later on. so I'm open to suggestions here as i have very much learnt my lesson on not skimping on PSU as it certainly is the difference between the system turning on or not haha.

Im also very convinced that the Titan X is probably the way forward for my build or possibly a 980ti when released depending on whether the price is right for the specs in comparison. i think a single card suits my needs much more than SLI set up.

Ive also decided to wait a bit on the RAM as i just used some Avexir Core Red in my friends build (DDR3 though) and i have to say it is awesome! so hopefully we will see a ddr4 version with a blue or white LED.

Nothing new to update you guys with yet, however I'll take some snazy shots of the Steelseries Apex Keyboard tomorrow when it arrives biggrin.gif

I know exactly how you feel. The paint job on my fan mounts turned out awful. I had to scrapped the whole color plan for the fans and I still don't have a new direction.

its pretty nice, im not a fan of mechanical (awaits the booing and heckling) and this ticks all the boxes for me, i like the look of a lot of stuff from steel series, especially the mice, but a bit pricey too. but pleased with this so far (1 hour of use) haha.
